Now I agree you should never get personal about a player as they work their asses off, however, if a player has a bad game and someone says so how is that wrong? Montana fans pay a lot for tickets and have helped create, what Mike Cramer says, is the only SEC environment in the West so fans are vested in this program....monetarily and emotionally. Yes, this team is young and Stitt is only in his second year but having a fan base with high expectation keeps everyone on their toes...and that is a good thing.

Why do people who complain and criticize think they are anything other than a bad fan? Of course, some criticizing and complaining is fine. Of course, most opinions are fine.
What's your definition of "high expectations"?
I want the team to do well every year, win games, and advance to the playoffs, but if they don't, that's okay with me. Especially, when it's obvious that the team was working very hard at its goals, which every Griz team I've ever seen has done.
I don't understand how fans think they have or should have some big right or stake in the team or its success. HavGriz has written on this multiple times. To me, it's about the players and the coaches, and their families. No one wants to be successful more than they do. No one cares more. For me, I'm just happy to be able to watch and enjoy the team, and be excited for the success. I may be a bit somber briefly about their lack of success, but a few beers and a good nights sleep and I'm looking forward to the next game or the next season. I feel fortunate to be a fan of a great program like Montana. I am happy to support the team and program in any way I can. I don't feel the program owes me anything, nor do I feel that I should have any say in the program (other than getting to be a big mouth, usually supportive, on the internet; ha).

Couldn't agree more. Used to get pretty worked up about losses....now, I'm just glad I'm a fan of Montana and there's not a single other school (big or small) that I'd rather be a fan of. As I've gotten older I've learned to appreciate what we've got, how special it is, and how fleeting it all is/could be...there's honestly not another school west of the Mississippi that's had the kind of sustained success Montana has had. No Pac-12 school. No MWC school. Boise State's "run" started in 1999. Oregon didn't get REALLY good until 2007...and they're gonna finish under .500 this year. An argument might be made for NDSU, but they've mixed in a 3-8, 2-8 and 6-5 seasons in their run. And that's not even considering the atmosphere advantage we have over all other schools.
I wouldn't trade it for the world. And no matter the outcome, I'm proud to call myself a Griz fan.

I agree with you too. Montana has been and is a very special program, and a stadium with a very special atmosphere. The streak of conference championships and deep playoff runs was absolutely incredible--and huge fun. NDSU has achieved a remarkable championship streak and has a great thing going now, but I wouldn't trade for it and give up what Montana had, has (even with a dip in recent years), and will have again in the future (I believe).

hugs. see, sometimes it takes a difference of opinion to bring out the best in us. we may have not made it to this warm and fuzzy place if we had not had these kinds of disconcerting threads since the EW loss.
i believe this has been happening all along.........folks expressing all sides to optimize a focus, so please do not fail to see this........ as well as what may appear to be the obvious.
