Worst win in program history?

The super bowl argument is a lame cover for being out coached week after week.

+100

Some fans still live in the past. Montana hasn't been a "Super Bowl" team for 10 years. EWU and Weber have taken our place. Return To Dominance is waaaaaay off........

But still funny! :thumb:

SUU had that one circled on the calendar... :)
Obviously!

And when they lose to Idaho next week it was from “griz hangover”. This and the “other teams Super Bowl” are easily two of my favorite egriz sayings.

Look, it's clearly a lame excuse, but to ignore that it's a real phenomenon doesn't make sense either. Teams DO play better in WaGriz than the do in, say, greeley.

One of the worst winning performances I can recall anyway. That 09’ game against Idaho state was pretty bad.

Yeah, that was the other one that immediately jumped to my mind as well. That was a team that went to Nooga that needed a last second FG to beat an 0-10 ISU team. So this shit happens. But today was...rough.

I was at that ISU game too. I don't know; that one didn't seem quite as painful as today's game, and it WAS on their turf.

Oxymoron: A figure of speech in which apparently contradictory terms appear in conjunction.

Example: "Worst win"

Firmed up our hold on fifth place.

Team wasn't prepared to play, that's a coaching problem. Said it about Stitt. Say the same about Bob.

We're four years into this Hauck deal. I think it really hurts a team to throw out the playbooks after every few years. We did that from Pflugrad through now and it hurts this team badly.

That said, we need to look at how quickly other teams have turned things around. Four years seems like enough. There should be changes being made by Bobby esp if he loses to the cats who are not only under a new coach, but a coach new to being a head coach.

What is worrisome to me is this team has not gotten better every week. I understand there have been injuries but something seems off. 2 lineman quit, 12 penalties and loss of composure, Sammy seems disinterested at times, and teams getting home every week without a lot of blitzing. Montana cant get pressure without blitzing. These last few games were supposed to be tuneups before the Cats and the way it is going, they will be battles, which does not bode well for the MSU game and (if we win) a second round road game in the playoffs.

You are so right!! This team has NOT gotten better every week. In fact, they have pretty much done nothing since beating Western Illinois. And the offensive playbook is offensive, no matter who is playing quarterback. I am not terribly hopeful for the next two road games, much less the Cat game. I do think it is a coaching issue, and I wonder what they will/can do about it.

Note, I didn’t say the win was bad. What I said, it seems to me, is no more an oxymoron than rating best wins. It’s clear to me there are absolutely degrees of wins and losses. And if that’s true, there would have to be, necessarily, a best and worst of each.

Yeah, it's not really a good oxymoron example. I'm betting there is a better word ... but I just couldn't think of one. :(

Do they? I get what you're saying, GinWA, but WA/griz had been a tough place to win, until the last 5ish years. Honestly I would guess a lot of teams used to play tight.

Yours is a very astute post. You cut through the B.S.,the bad fan rap, and get straight to the point. How many years should we wait for the vague promise to Return To Dominance? Hell, we can't even beat our little brother to the East, let alone compete on a national level. We are starting to sound like Nebraska fans with phrases like "it takes time", or "we are almost there"

You do realize they won 10 games in year 2 and lost year 3 by not playing.
