Worst call in BSC officiating history?

Any time a player from any team anywhere states publically "he wants to make the other team hate them" he and that team become classless losers in my humble opinion!
Not to mention the UND player who said that he wanted to make two people in the stadium nervous, the QB and the QB's mother. Utterly classless. Given the JJ's injury, this should be reported to the BSC.

While it wasn't the BSC officiating, I do believe the call last year in the game against Coastal Carolina was worse...

That was the worst call in the history of football, at any level, period.

Teams I love to hate:

Msu...obvious reasons
Ewu...also obvious
Northern iowa...sharingplayoffvideogate...
Und....jjgate.

This is fun.

OK, I'll bite. A player is quoted as saying (in effect) that we intend to hurt your quarterback and the quarterback gets injured. You don't think that warrants a discussion with the league? Uh, oky doky. Well, on second thought, I am sure it was strictly a coincidence... Never mind.

The delayed review?

Yep, delayed review, we did get the call right but the last play doesn't count incident.

Anybody know if those referees got the axe after that game?

But the clock still ran!! That was the coup se Ville. "Yeah, that 26 yard gain for a first down didn't count 'cause, you know, we gotta watch that video of the obvious catch to determine it was an obvious catch. So even though you picked up 26 yards and a first down, we're gonna go ahead and say that the 44 seconds that ran off for the play that never happened -- at least by our thinking -- should not be put back on the clock. We think that's the right decision."

Yah so when people talk about the worst call in the bsc I just laugh because it's not even the worst call that's happened to us in the last year

Hmmm. Well if there was ever any defensive player on any college football team, in the history of the world, that wasn't wanting someone on his team to get to the QB and hit him as hard as humanly possible - that player should be kicked off the team because football obviously isn't his game. God you guys sound like pussies sometimes.

I played college football, and don't know many players who wanted his teammates to hit the qb as hard as humanly possible. Get to the qb, yes. Make a legitimate hit, yes. But hit the qb as hard as humanly possible, nope. Qb's are vulnerable. Never wanted an opposing qb to get hurt. Felt bad when they did get hurt.

Are you shitting me? So back in the Ivy glory days let's say you came in on a corner blitz and had a free shot on the QB...... are you saying you would ease up and just hit him hard enough to tackle him? Wow. That's certainly not how I was taught to play the game and it certainly wasn't how I played the game. Of course I'm only speaking from the perspective of MT Class A varsity football, so not nearly at a high level.

There is a difference between hitting hard and hitting with the intent to injure.

I think there's a distinct difference between a legal "as hard as humanly possible" hit and "after the whistle" hits that essentially knock the QB out of the game. If it happened to Prukop, you'd be pissed to I assume. Unless of course you're simply ok with free shots on players after the play is dead.

People get injured playing football. I get it. I'm not some stupid ass constantly posting on my rival's forum after all. Had JJ simply been injured on a clean play then tough break. He was (in a sense) threatened and then injured. If you can't see the qualitative difference then you are that stupid ass who posts incessantly on the rival team's forum. I am not saying that the league needs to take action but if nothing else UND needs to be placed on double-secret probation. Seriously someone should at least call the UND coach and have him coach his players that such public pronouncements may be perceived as "thuggish". You'll end up with Pat Williams all up in your s#!7 -- and nobody wants that!

...the whole fcuking deal...
...was on television...
...roll the tape...
...puckheadz...

... 8-) ...

What are you talking about? The discussion was about "hitting a qb as hard as humanly possible"--not "easing up" or "hitting just hard enough to tackle him". I always tackled hard, whether in football or rugby, and was considered a hard hitter. I'd still be happy to show you how well I could tackle you (but only with narrow cones). However, I never tried to hit a qb, especially if hung up and vulnerable, as hard as humanly possible. I just tried to make a good tackle, and make sure I brought down the qb and kept him from throwing if I could. I had more respect for the game than trying to hit someone as hard as humanly possible and take them out of a game. Winning was always important, but how one played the game was equally important to me. I generally believe that win-at-all-costs people are a-holes.

This argument is getting pretty stupid. Ok, I will concede that maybe I was a wee bit too wordy with my comment throwing the work "humanly" in there. Certainly if you don't exercise a bit or caution you are risking injury to self or the other player. That is not what I was suggesting. If you have a free shot on the QB with a few steps, you get going as fast as you can, hit as hard as you can, wrap up and drive through. You want him to feel it and get rattled, period.
