Woody Brandom commits to The Griz!

Brandom is an excellent TE prospect for an offense that uses a blocking TE, however, that is not our offense anymore. Stitt made a few adjustments to the recruiting when he came on board. I think it's fair to assume he told Brandom that he doesn't really fit the new offense very well. On the other hand, an excellent receiving TE with size and wheels like Sims would be a great fit for the new offense. He would likely be listed on the roster as a WR.

Brandom is a great pick up for MSU and a good one to lose for UM because he doesn't fit the new offense. His scholly will go to somebody that can better fit the WR position. I know for a fact that current fullbacks and tight ends on the Griz roster are being assigned to new positions.

In other words, we wanted him under Delaney and he would have been an excellent player for that offense, however, not wanted so much under Stitt. Stitt has limited scholarships to make an impact with his new offense and he wants more receivers. Woody was a solid commit until having a discussion with the new coach. Then he decommitted. It's pretty easy to connect the dots. He should have a great career for MSU.

Yep, I'd love to see Tyree talking to those guys too. I really hope he sticks to his commitment. He looks like he would be a stud in the Big Sky.

I'd say he is committed but has a wandering eye...if some hotty (bigger FBS school) comes by and throws him a bone, good chance he goes for it.

I can't tell if you are paraphrasing me or challenging me. I have been told all scholarships prior to Stitt have been honored and those players that didn't fit the new offense were told so. That way they could change their mind with lots of recruiting time left to find other options. As Catsrback put it, this is a win for the Cats, a win for the player because it's a better fit, and a win for the new coach to get a another WR to fit his offense.

I feel go96griz may be right on....stitt has as much as said so. a wide receiver and o/l are what he is looking for....simms would no doubt be a heck of a big receiver type.....

I heard that too. I hope it's not true, but a lot of people are saying the University of South Carolina 'Cocks are gladhanding him and might just finish first in this one. I didn't see an offer from MSU; why didn't Ash take a whack at him?

Good points. It's always better to pull out early, but the other party definitely had a bone to prick. I'm just glad he went down to 205 lbs.; he was a bit chubby before. Lots of coaches are going to ding dong his bell, and I bet he grabs the knob to let them in. I just hope he doesn't end up at Weber because he wouldn't look good in a purple helmet.
