Sure weezy. He said the Pac-12 wouldn't get more than 2 teams in. They got FIVE. So, NOW his argument is "sure they got 5 teams in, but they got shitty seeds so it's obvious the committee agrees with me!"

 :yikes: :coffee: :coffee:

Dude - getting in means you are one of the 68 best teams in the country. Winning a game once you're in is quite a different standard.

Hat tastes great! Lots and lots and lots of sugar.

Getting into the tournament does not mean you are one of the 68 best teams in the country. It just means you took care of things when needed. Are you trying to tell me that liberty is better than weber?

Being able to admit you're wrong is a rare skill in this world and rarer yet on Egriz. I was wrong about the Pac 12. However, I do not retract any statement that the conference sucks balls. Their best teams got a 6 seed. A six seed! With horrible matchups to boot.

I think yesterday you saw the committee rewarding teams for trying to schedule harder games, especially if they are mid-majors. Big conference teams that play weak OOC schedules got left out, and that's how it should be. UM played up. Middle Tennessee played up. New Mexico, UNLV, etc- all played up. Tennessee played down, Iowa played down, etc, and they're on the outside looking in. The Pac 12 is similar in that regard. The conference top to bottom is just not a quality league, and winning it outright in the regular season gets you a 6 seed while winning the conference tourney gets you an 11. That screams no respect, and in this case, it is totally justified.

You're always wrong.

They do. Do you really think that the Pac 12 is respected nationally as a respectable FBS conference? Let's think about it for a minute. The MWC got 5 teams in. The Atlantic 10 got 5 teams in. Their seeds were mostly all higher than the Pac 12. See, when you don't schedule competitive games and get your barnholes blown out by the likes of Albany (UW) or DePaul (ASU) or lose to bottom feeders in the Crap 12 (Arizona), it is hard to take the conference seriously.

The bubble was as soft as it has ever been this season. They had to let some Pac 12 teams in because no one else wanted it. When your conference is as soft as the Pac 12, your record appears inflated (unless you're Arizona, in which case you actually lost to bad Pac 12 teams) because you're beating up on inferior talent. I don't know how you could argue the point, but I assume you will just blindly do it because that's what morons do.

I am not sure what your problem with Pac12 basketball is. It is certainly down a bit this year compared to previous years but it is by no means a bad basketball conference. The power rankings statistically rate them right up there with the ACC for sure and usually with the Big 10 as well. You're just wrong about this one Jerry.

Dredging up the old threads about everyone's predictions on the Wisconsin game is a bit of a low blow. This is a griz fan board and of course there will be predictions of a griz win. It's a little weak to talk smack about it. Like Teddy Roosevelt says, the griz are the "man in the ring" you're just a bystander talking about it. I will admit that when everettgriz said he'd predict the griz to win even if he wasn't a fan was definitely low hanging fruit for smack in hind sight.

Face it Jerry, griz BB is back in black and only getting better. If Tinkle sticks around we will be cracking the top 25 on a regular basis in the coming years.

FO. I was far from the only one to do it, including a lot of national college basketball experts. The game turned out ugly, but picking Montana to upset Wisconsin in that game wasn't really that unusual.

But JP is a jealous idiot. On that I know we all agree.

You are a funny guy! He can come back and roast me later, I am picking the Griz to beat Syracuse 70-69 and I'd do it even if I wasn't a fan.

Jealous idiot? Not quite. I'm just calling out the hubris and arrogance which as reared its ugly head yet again. Remember, UM barely won its conference championship on their home floor. Syracuse lost its conference championship and beat a number of top 25 teams on the way to doing it. Ward is out for the season. Syracuse has players that UM cannot match. If UM shoots 70% from the field and Syracuse plays poorly, sure, they have a chance. If UM would have shot better against Wisconsin and not had random tall white dudes go off on them, sure, they would have had a chance. But these "ifs and buts" are a product of Grizzly imagination and nothing else grounded in reality.

Montana cracking the top 25 for years to come? I heard that in 2006. "We're the next Gonzaga," said fans, after beating Nevada for one of the first ever Griz tourney wins in the modern era. I'll give it to you that you're dominant in the Big Sky and there is no reason to doubt that would change for yeras. But dominant in this league and "cracking the top 25" are two different animals.

JP, you seem to have a difficult time distinguising reality from the make-believe world in which you wish you lived. I know it's much, much better for you (since you have little else) to believe that all GRIZ fans are -- what were the words again -- full of hubris and arrogance -- but that just ain't reality, bub. Sorry to burst your bubble and take away what little you have to denigrate GRIZ fans.

But the fact of the matter is, most of us don't think the GRIZ will beat Syracuse and realize the team has its hands full, particularly without Ward.

Although frankly, I could have saved us both some time and just quoted another very astute poster on this board who replied to succinctly replied to you simply:

"You're always wrong".

This, only after being exposed for the arrogance of last year's pick. I know your memory goes back only a few months. I don't expect that to change next year either.

Donkey-Punch: Please take your arrogant, tiny-penised worldview back to your shitter box in Catland please. We have basketball to talk here and you should be on to golf season right?

Catfans are making fun of you via PM again. Maybe it's time to give up this line of ridiculousness, and go back to being wrong about something else.

They were rated the 3rd toughest conference in the country. They went 11-25 against the top 25. Your vaunted ACC? 13-41. The MWC? 10-33. Why is it that when Big East teams beat up on each other it's because it's a "tough conference" but when Pac-12 teams beat up on each other it's "losing to bad Pac-12 teams".

And all that is moot. You lost the argument, so you changed your rules. Bitch move. Admit it.

Your claim that the Crap 12 is the 3rd best conference in the country depends on changing standards. The rules of evaluation change constantly through the season. For example, "ranked at the time" and "ranked currently" are two different measures of evaluation. If we look at conference RPI, however, the Pac 12 is ranked 6th:

http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/bracketology/conference" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Does that make sense to you? You don't have to take my word for it though. The committee, as is always the case, has the final say in where a conference is valued. If you're trying to argue that being assigned a 12 seed for winning the Pac 12 tournament screams respect, then that's all on you, bro.
