How about a Qb that waits for the play to develop if not scrambles, is consistent, makes the correct reads, doesn't stare down his targets, and can also run a triple option when the pass isn't working?

who would that be...

A player created on NCAA Football 14?

Exactly. You guys are wasting your time with jcu. Look back at his posts and any threads. He has consistently been wrong on eveything. His opinions are not based in reality.
Funny. I predicted Delaney's shit hire to produce us a 5-6 record. And many other accurate statements. Go ahead and look back at my posts without just trying to find the few I was wrong with. Try looking at them all. Cherry picker.

Stitt has really only recruited in Gresch Jensen and Reese Phillips as QB's that fit his style of offense: accurate and smart with the threat to run.
It will be welcome a relief from the inaccurate, stupid quarterbacks we have been consistently recruiting since Don Read. I don't know why no coach ever thought to recruit accurate and smart quarterbacks.

Was Selle not accurate or smart enough for you?
Sells was a great Qb. One of my favorites to play at UM.

Yeah it was a bit of a generalization but I guess what I'm trying to say is Stitt probably isn't a big fan of "gunslingers" at QB.
Wouldn't blame him for that, but there too, what coach is?

On the other hand, Stitt traded a 71% completion average QB for a 58% completion average QB.

And don't take my sarcasm personally. When this conversation erupted mid-season, all the chest thumpers arrived to announce that "Stitt was going to do this," and "Stitt was going to do that" and in particular, "he's going to recruit HIS athletes!"

And of course, when asked how Stitt was going to recruit differently, and what exactly would he be looking for that would be distinctive, this board got answers, complete with anger and venom, that "STITT WAS GOING TO RECRUIT BIG FAST GUYS FOR THE LINE" as though that was a major revelation that only Bob Stitt had ever thought of. For QB, same question? 'HE'S GOING TO RECRUIT QUARTERBACKS THAT ARE SMART AND ACCURATE! SO THERE!"

In other words, this collection of geniuses has Stitt all figured out and what he's "going to recruit" and then when asked to offer a definition anything more meaningful than cheerleader pablum, they can't. And of course when that points out just how dumb the comments really are when you think about it, then of course you must be "anti-Stitt," because these guys look stupid. I think even Stitt would agree that he's never yet met a football coach that wanted to recruit slow, stupid, lazy quarterbacks.

But when a mindless fan parrots the claim that "Stitt is going to recruit quarterbacks that are FAST, ACCURATE and maybe even can run," I don't think they are bright enough to understand just how stupid that really is. Of course he is. The alternative is ridiculous.

It's hard to tell if they think Stitt is so delusional that he just thought up the concept all by himself ... or if they really believe it themselves.

ummmmm......NO.....
Umm.. Yeah... How do you think plays are made? Hopes and dreams? No it's with talented athletes who study tape constantly and do nothing but try to improve. It's all about recognition. There are plenty good qbs who can recognize if a plays going to develop or break. At that time they can decide whether to pass, scramble, throw the ball away, or take a hit and hold on to the f***[*] ball. Unless you have defenders coming through the o line before you can even look anywhere. Which is another problem we have but, Stitt has done good with getting some good o line verbals.

Yes and when those players you're looking for stay in the FCS you get Carson Wentz, they get drafted in 1st or 2nd rounds...and are pretty freaking rare at this level.

No one is perfect. Mistakes will be made. You think most starting FBS qbs aren't consistent and can't recognize reads? How do people ever even play football? Too hard to think!!! How do scouts know how to scout people!?! Omg its all a conspiracy!!

Agreed. Since everyone was giving the description on what Stitt wants in a Qb I added what I also want in a Qb. Does it mean it will happen? No. But, there is no reason UM can't get a better Qb than what we have now. D2 Qbs.

Never said this. I said starting FBS qbs. Especially at teams like Ohio St, FSU, Oregon, etc.

so what you are saying is that it is Stitt's fault that the QB position lacks talent even though this is really his first full recruiting class at UM......

My bad....you did say most....which is still not correct by the way....Just look at Oregon for the most visible example...

Nope. What I'm saying is he possibly made a mistake with a talented Qb. And traded it for another unknown kid with worse high school stats. And for some other random community college Qb that will probably never play a down here. I'm happy with getting Reese for competition. But there's not much competition there. Would it of hurt to give Willy another year or two? Do we really need 800 wr's? I feel like he deserved a chance to prove himself at least. Other people could have been cut for roster space.

Maybe you should read some articles on Vernon Adams. One person said he should of been in the running for the Heisman... So EWU obviously gets great qbs year in year out that can do this... Why can't UM? We had one in JJ and Selle in recent times but that's about it. I think you are thinking about that post a little too hard bud.

my point was that even Oregon could not recruit a legit FBS QB and had to raid FCS both last season and again this season.....there are a lot of poor QB's in FBS....not even all NFL teams can find a QB....so to assume that they are everywhere is false.....
