WaGriz4life said:Not entirely correct. You are right that the schools can't tweet about or to potential recruits (although direct messaging is acceptable during certain periods). The reason UM tweeted that today has nothing to do with it being a "non athletic" account, they were allowed to do that because he signed his financial aid agreement. Delaney can now speak publicly about Willy Pflug if he chooses. Once the FAA is signed it is a done deal and he is no longer a "potential recruit." Larger schools do this all the timegah-riz said:grzz said:Two observations:
1) That high school program is better at running an offensive system that utilizes the QB's talent areas than the Griz currently are.
2) Wasn't there something a year or two ago from UM about not interacting with recruits and commits on Twitter as it could be a violation? Just asking in regards to the tweet from the main UM account.
You're correct, note that is a non-athletic account, probably some Junior intern in charge of UM account for the day that has no idea he is a recruit and is just another senior who is looking forward to joining UM. Ignorance is not a defense however, it is possibly a low-level violation, if you look through the timeline you'll see that account interacting in a similar manner with other soon-to-be students.
