Pretty strong statement, but with exactly ZERO qb's on the roster next year with any real game experience...who knows?

Gustafson
Simis
Weyer
Pflug

Am I missing anyone? If not, who out of this group starts next year?

A strong statement? I don't think so....but let's present some common sense that should help the situation a little

Guess I'm the slow kid in class....I don't get it.

Not directing your quote back at you, just a general thought. Point being, out of those, Simis is probably the next best fit for an all around athletic type QB.
A "new" coaching staff welcomed back a year removed spread formation QB and was named the starter. Those other Qb's are more pocket type Qb's, again with the outlier being Simis, IMO. My guess in the end, is if Pflug ends up being all he looks like on video, he sees the field sooner then later.
The others look good on video but I have to agree with the other poster....JJ made us all drool of what he can do...Can't say I have seen someone close to him.....that's also played in a MAJOR metro league area....

I suppose it will depend on the coach and system. Simis seems to be the most athletic of the bunch. Personally I'd like to see Weyer. Nothing would make me happier than to see a Bozeman kid stick it to the cats for 4 years.

Coyle and Schmidt did their part.

Article says Willy is "superbly accurate...a baller...maintains a very high gpa".

Dad was a QB at Oregon State and Idaho State.

Congratulations on your choice, Willy!

Welcome to GRIZ NATION!!

Prepare to win championships!

Very gifted Qb Willy Pflug of Sunset High School has a complete set of skills for a young Qb. He is a protege of the great Matt James of the Elite 11 Qb Football Training and he talks about next season and the road ahead with Dirk Knudsen.

That high school hair

This kid is definitely a baller. Eastern was going after him too and I was hoping we would land him. I think he will make quite a statement in the Big Sky. Good catch, Griz.

I just hope the older guys give him a buzz cut....

Two observations:

1) That high school program is better at running an offensive system that utilizes the QB's talent areas than the Griz currently are.

2) Wasn't there something a year or two ago from UM about not interacting with recruits and commits on Twitter as it could be a violation? Just asking in regards to the tweet from the main UM account.

You're correct, note that is a non-athletic account, probably some Junior intern in charge of UM account for the day that has no idea he is a recruit and is just another senior who is looking forward to joining UM. Ignorance is not a defense however, it is possibly a low-level violation, if you look through the timeline you'll see that account interacting in a similar manner with other soon-to-be students.

This kid reminds me of a fast Kellen Moore. Smart (academically and football wise), accurate and has a quick release. I think he is about the same size as Kellen was out of high school and both of them came from a football family. Of course a comparison to DD is obvious also. Drawing comparisons to either one of those quarterbacks says a lot about this kid. I hope he will be as successful as both of them.

Good luck to him!

Not entirely correct. You are right that the schools can't tweet about or to potential recruits (although direct messaging is acceptable during certain periods). The reason UM tweeted that today has nothing to do with it being a "non athletic" account, they were allowed to do that because he signed his financial aid agreement. Delaney can now speak publicly about Willy Pflug if he chooses. Once the FAA is signed it is a done deal and he is no longer a "potential recruit." Larger schools do this all the time

Fast, elusive, strong arm, appears to have good mechanics...can't wait to watch him tear it up on Saturdays!

So does that mean he is committed and would have to be released from the commitment to go anywhere else?

Anyone have the link to his highlights? I can't seem to find them.

EDIT: NM found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOqEEA5pjUk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

More than committed, he has signed an agreement with the school. It is a done deal. He is graduating from HS early and will be taking classes spring semester and practicing with the football team.

Any idea of his 40 time (looked decently fast on that footage)? That Prukop's speed over in Bozoland brings a dimension to their offense that will give teams fits for years.
