Will the 2016 Defense be better than 2015 and 2014 Defenses?

Box, you're making this more than it is. I'm simply asking Alpha a question dude. So, I'll rephrase it.

AG1, do YOU think the Griz will be better as a 3-4 or a 4-3?

Box, is that better?

No, I'm asking him what he thinks. Because I know he is glad TG is gone, and if TG was still here, the Griz would not be moving to a fulltime 3-4

not sure his dislike for TG and the "possible" change to a 3-4 are anywhere near the same argument....

Hav Griz' original question (see below) wasn't an "argument". It was a question. How about AG1, you or anyone just answering the question? Why do you feel the need to change the discussion from the question that was asked? ADD, perhaps?

"AG1, question. Do you really think the Griz, with their current roster and current recruits, will be a better off switching to the 3-4? I do not."

There was no reason to include Alpha's dislike for TG if the question was only about changing to a 3-4 defense....

Sounds like MOST of us Griz fans and E-grizzers are not "qualified" or "football smart" enough to post.

Brag, blow and chest thumping are meant for insecure folks and politicians.

I am an unusual poster and I love reading other posters and pondering what they have to say. For the most part I like every person on E-griz and I don't agree with some but I never call them stupid or sink to name calling.

Hav....why did you have to include the fact that Alpha disliked TG in your question about changing defenses....that was my only point....

I also think it is a dumb question....you have a team that has played and recruited for a 4-3 defense for as long as I can remember...so of course you would have to assume that changing to a 3-4 would not make the defense better in the short-term....as for the long-term....who knows....but I could also say that even staying as a 4-3 team...they may not be better either...

Actually, in my original question to him, I said nothing of Ty Gregorak! If you'd care to reread it. I said he doesn't like TG when YOU responded to a straight forward question I asked him.

actually you asked the original question like he had stated it previously and I was questioning that....then you started with the TG dislike and changing defenses in your reply.....

Well, the fact remains, I asked Ag1 a question that didn't have the words Ty Gregorak in it, nor did I say AG1 previously said anything to make me ask the question. Sometimes, a question is just a question Box. Let's leave it at that shall we.

Great, now we know your view. Would it be okay for others like AG1 answer the question, without you interfering?

Great. What I don't like is people who exaggerate what they heard or what they know, and people who saw or act like they are good friends with coaches and then post publicly what other people probably told them in confidence. Let us know your name or shoot me your name in a PM, and I'll ask Bobby, Mick and TG what they think of you and how well you know them.

You can like someone and still find fault with their game planning abilities. You can believe someone would make a fine head coach even though their game planning skills as an OC or DC might be lacking, especially if that person recognizes their weaknesses and can hire good talent for their OC and DC. I just don't see Umista's and PR's positions or information as mutually exclusive.

I can also believe a former coach might tell someone who is a close friend, guest at their house frequently, an honest assessment of his former DC's abilities and areas he needs improvement as a coordinator, that he wouldn't share with people who have a more public persona.

The fact Mick said TG should be the guy tells you a lot about where we are and why TG left. Stitt probably didn't like having a coach on staff that a lot of heavy hitters within the Griz football thought should be the head coach over him, but he signed him on anyway due to what Stitt believed was a very good coach in TG.

I believe it was stated on here many, many times that Stitt didn't "sign on" Ty. Stitt was told that Ty, Legi and Green were TO BE RETAINED. As in, not up for discussion.

Maybe "told" is too strong. Maybe the more accurate assessment was that Stitt was "asked" to retain them. That's a fact.

There is a huge difference in those two terms. I actually think the actual message was less than "asked to retain" them. While I don't know, I assume Stitt would have been hired if he hadn't retained them.

and, moving to a 3-4 base doesn't happen with the flick of a switch. This board absolutely kills me. Give you guys a little nugget and it turns into Mt Fcking Everest!! It will be a process. Gradually implementing it on the field and with recruiting. Some of you guys need either a job that occupies more of your time, or a good hobby!

UM has used the 3-4 previously. Used it in the first half against the Cats when Chase Reynolds was a senior. Gave up 3 TD's, maybe in the first three possessions. Went back to the 4-3 for the second half.

More like someone pointed out that they were very good and well liked coaches and that he should consider retaining them.
