Sure, they are still probably better than the bottom 8 that would make the playoffs, but if you lose your last 5 games in the season, do you deserve to be in the playoffs?

as long as they have 7 wins they are in and maybe get in with 6

I agree. With seven wins, they're in. If Mason comes back, they're a possible contender. If not, they're a possible out in the first round.
There isn't enough good teams to fill out a 24 bracket field..just isnt...there is barely 4-5 good enough teams to be considered legit.
If sdsu finishes at 7-5 I would give them a punches chance at getting in just based on the win at Msu, at 6-6 no way.
