Why Isn't Pease Being Given More Attention Again?

I know Brent wants it. I'm afraid he isn't being considered properly. I know O'Day well but Kent not much.

More about football than I do? Alpha, you on the sauce and drugs again?

Heaven forbid if Pease gets the nod, Alpha will be the new OC! Nothing but speed and air!

But seriously, if that is the worst we can come up with, why isn't he being courted? I really can't believe we are more excited about a D2 guy with a marginal winning record regardless of how tough it is to recruit there. I will be the first to apologize if Stitt gets it and does well, but does anyone want to bet a ton of money it is more likely that Pease gets better results?

That "D2 GUY" is one of the most respected college football coaches in the western united states.....there is a reason for that. Judging a coaches future success by his past records have never been a good gauge IMO.

this might be the first time me and mr. ed agree on something. stranger things have happened.

So the OC for Boise State can't compete with this guy? Is that what you are saying?

Seriously? What is the perceived "downside"? I think he would be fantastic and have the broadest recruiting knowledge we have ever had at UM.

Possibly we will need one more distraction before he the hiring of Hauck is announced so Pease may get his turn. The (publics) attention has now turned from Baldwin to Stitt so if Bobby can't get his staff together soon I'm sure some people with "inside" information will start claiming Pease is the guy.

No I def think he could, and I would be happy with Pease also...but people are foolish to think that Stitt wouldn't be a damn good hire! The 3 guys I want are Bobby, Stitt and Pease...so any of those 3 I'd be more than happy. I think with Stitt you would have a guy willing to stay at the program for 8-10 years...the other 2 not so much. If Pease had success fast wed be lucky to keep him for 5

How long do you think Pease would stick around?

Let's see, he want's the job, wiling to take a big reduction in salary I would assume that he would stick around till something better than Wyoming, Utah State, UNLY, and a slew of others, not to say he wouldn't be interested in a big time FBS school, Big Ten, Pack ?? SEC, I think you get my drift.

I think Brent is getting attention and a fair shake at this position.

Kent is deliberate in his decision making process and I appreciate that. He won't mislead anyone and if he is interviewing Brent it will be a legitimate interview process. Kent won't tip his hand and when he is ready he will announce his choice. I applaud him for the way he is going about this.

If Brent expresses a clear vision of how he would proceed and has his staff picked out and commitments from them it will pull a lot of weight. I would hope Ty, Green and Suiaunoa would be on his staff for sure. I would think the future with Brent as the head coach would be bright as he has a wealth of experience in many different situations with a variety of head coaches and different approaches to the game. I don't think anyone can deny that he possesses a brilliant offensive mind.

Grizpony--my gut tells me Haslam is trying to work out a plan to keep a lot of the current staff with the program in at least some capacity as he doesn't want to see so many good guys displaced and out of work. Please tell BP that he should come up with a plan to keep Gragg, Green, and Gregorak on the staff and making the same wage--and present said plan to Haslam. Pease should also offer to keep Delaney on for a couple years in the transition in some type capacity.

".....keep Delaney on for a couple years in the transition in some type capacity."

I had never thought of that and it's likely you're serious but that line just opened up the door for a whole bunch of new MD jokes.

Can confirm, he's interested and is one of the guys who I believe is planned for a 2nd interview. Now if this damned fog could clear out of the valley...

Maybe he is stuck here and trying to make it for a 2nd interview somewhere else.

I really hope he is not the choice, but I will not go into the reasons on eGriz.

I am sure you will continue to avoid the question, but who would your choice be then?
