I think the QB room is solid especially after watching the film on Brady Jay. That kid is phenomenal. Man I hope he sticks with his commit. I don't know much about Luke Flowers, but if he is better than Brady Jay... the QB position is solid for a few years.
RB... I think the team could use another RB. This is Gillman's last year, but I think Jones is going to step in and do as good if not better. Fynn Ridgeway looked good last year, but idk about the rest of the RBs. I have watched film but they don't jump out as all-anything material. No that's not true, he is incoming, but Dawson Hammond could be a decent RB. Again, IDK, it's not right to compare these guys to EG or Jones. EG is one of the best in the nation at any level. Jones has just flat impressed the hell out of me whenever he stepped on the field. Didn't see a lot of Fynn Ridgeway, but what I did was complimentary to Jones.
I am excited to see that Courtney Rogers brings. His film is outstanding, but... it's highlights so there's that, but he is one of the best in the state of Arkansas, so there's that. The rest of the RB's just don't impress me.
Admittedly, that's my own bias toward Montana players, which really sucks being Montanan through and through. Sometimes I wish I hadn't moved around as much as I have and seen what I have seen. I would be able to be blissfully ignorant. That's not to say Montana doesn't produce some good athletes,, we just don't produce as many and the ones we do produce don't play at a level of competition equal to the top levels of other states. There is exactly zero chance of ever convincing me that Montana AA is remotely comparable to Texas 6A, Ohio 6A, Washington 4A, California, Florida, Georgia... I do think we produce players comparable to states more or less around our own population level.
After looking at the roster, I think the team could maybe use another big man on the DL 6'2/3 290-300.
What I know is this is one of the best rosters and incoming recruiting classes I have seen in almost a decade.
