Why Griz fell behind NDSU

lots of reasons for that. Maybe he realized he would not get any play time or his girlfriend/boyfriend lives in St George or any number of other reasons.
I was going to make a joke about soaking with said girlfriend but I won't.

Maybe the kid likes the hot and not the cold.

Gross. The defense as whole and especially the linebackers have not been impressive at all this year. And why do we continually have to do inside hires? This nativist approach to hiring is so tired. Its like people have so much PTSD over Stitt that they can't comprehend that its a big world out there and there's talent outside of UM.

When Bobby leaves, it would be a colossal mistake not to do a thorough coaching search.
The last time we did a thorough coaching search and hired outside the family was a colossal mistake to the point people we had less than 20,000 people at games. Why in the world would we stop what is clearly working?

I would argue for a 12-15 year period, Montana was damn near as dominant as ndsu has been the last 12 years. The difference was that the fcs was so much stronger then that no team was going to win 8 straight titles. The division is a mere shell of itself then.

Montana averaged a title game appearance every other year for over a decade. And that was with an fcs that has since lost most of its quality programs. No way in hell ndsu has the kind of run it had if it were playing in the mid 90s to 2010 and had to face the Marshalls, the GSUs, the Apps, the Richmond's, the Nova's etc. just wouldn't happen.
Of all the things ever said on a fan forum, this might very well be the dumbest.

That’s like saying the Colts had a run mirroring the Patriots.

Not comparable…..not remotely comparable

One of the biggest missing pieces is that UM has likely really never had a football program…outside of maybe a decade from 1995-2005, that was truly better than NDSU. Make no mistake about it…..those 1980’s to early 1990’s NDSU teams would have absolutely walked all over UM.

I am sure this has been talked about ad nauseam, but I am generally curious why Montana never turned into a premiere championship team before NDSU? Was the administration at the time not on board with Montana being a big time Football school?

No FCS program has had sustained QB play like the Bison have over a 20 year time period.
