You are correct. This is why my books never sell.I think you meant "he chose profit OVER decency and journalistic integrity".

I am thinking more like "The Rise and Fall of the Montana Grizzlies Dynasty""What Should Have Been -- The Montana Football Story Of My Daydreams"
It's a working title.
The thread leaves me wondering why "Bison fell behind SDSU."they most definitely were not. I like our team. I was just curious why the Griz weren't able to pull away from the FCS before NDSU started gobbling up championships.
I can agree to this, as long as I get an epilogue titled "Return to Dominance."I am thinking more like "The Rise and Fall of the Montana Grizzlies Dynasty"
I would argue for a 12-15 year period, Montana was damn near as dominant as ndsu has been the last 12 years. The difference was that the fcs was so much stronger then that no team was going to win 8 straight titles. The division is a mere shell of itself then.they most definitely were not. I like our team. I was just curious why the Griz weren't able to pull away from the FCS before NDSU started gobbling up championships.
Because he had a connection to one of the victim-complainers. He apparently knew her or her family from before. I once saw him having lunch with her downtown at Tamarack. He paid. Why in the hell of all the campuses around the nation he decided to write a book about Missoula and their Football team?
"I don't mean to single out Missoula: Its rape rate is a little less than the national average," Krakauer said
I know this has all been rehashed multiple times throughout the years. I don't want to keep beating a dead horse.
Richmond and Villanova are still aroundI would argue for a 12-15 year period, Montana was damn near as dominant as ndsu has been the last 12 years. The difference was that the fcs was so much stronger then that no team was going to win 8 straight titles. The division is a mere shell of itself then.
Montana averaged a title game appearance every other year for over a decade. And that was with an fcs that has since lost most of its quality programs. No way in hell ndsu has the kind of run it had if it were playing in the mid 90s to 2010 and had to face the Marshalls, the GSUs, the Apps, the Richmond's, the Nova's etc. just wouldn't happen.
Montana had those setbacks, but my impression is that NDSU was on it and had the recruiting advantage of being close to Minnesota where there aren’t any FCS schools. Kudos to the Bison.they most definitely were not. I like our team. I was just curious why the Griz weren't able to pull away from the FCS before NDSU started gobbling up championships.
I somehow had not remembered this little tidbit, at all. Wowzers. I hope I run into him at Tamarack some day. I'd love to have a polite, civil discussion about his "journalism."Because he had a connection to one of the victim-complainers. He apparently knew her or her family from before. see this is your problem why your books do not sell: you simply only dream these thingsI can agree to this, as long as I get an epilogue titled "Return to Dominance."
I am curious why you choose NDSU vs SDSU or ?I am sure this has been talked about ad nauseam, but I am generally curious why Montana never turned into a premiere championship team before NDSU? Was the administration at the time not on board with Montana being a big time Football school?
I have sold no less than three books, I will have you know. (I have two parents and a sibling....)see this is your problem why your books do not sell: you simply only dream these things
Because we did it when all the good teams were still here. No team can be dominant forever. ndsu won't be either. But I suspect you know all this.So all the good teams left and thats why NDSU had a decade long run stacking up more hardware than any other FCS program in history?
Sounds easy, why didn't we do that?
To the author's credit -- the only credit he gets -- he doesn't hide this fact and discusses it openly in the book and the forward when admitting he chose Missoula to tell his story not because sexual abuse was out of pattern here, but because he had a personal relationship with one of the alleged victimsI somehow had not remembered this little tidbit, at all. I remember when he quoted eGriz in that book. If that alone doesn’t undermine your credibility nothing willTo the author's credit -- the only credit he gets -- he doesn't hide this fact and discusses it openly in the book and the forward when admitting he chose Missoula to tell his story not because sexual abuse was out of pattern here, but because he had a personal relationship with one of the alleged victims
I don't know if I would call them falling behind..SDSU has more like just caught up.since 2011the bison have won 9 championships. SDSU has won the last two and the 2022 season sdsu beat ndsu and if I remember right the head coach had already announced he was leaving and they lost a bunch to the portal and to injuries...that and I guess they stopped selling beer in the dome and that cut down on fans......The thread leaves me wondering why "Bison fell behind SDSU."
Now that's hilarious!I remember when he quoted eGriz in that book. If that alone doesn’t undermine your credibility nothing will
