Who are new heavy's?

Not correct. Now players can be on the field 5 years. People playing for many years in recent years have generally not played when they weren’t healthy and were not on the field taking up the two-deep slots.
Not correct regarding which point? Be specific, please.

I understand that players can now be on the field for 5 years. If we're talking about taking up roster spots, which I believe we were, then it makes no difference whether they're on the field or not. Like they have been able to for quite a while, most players at the FCS level are staying on the roster for 5 years. That will not change. If you'd like to say that it changes who is on the two deep, I would agree to that, but as far as I can tell, that isn't the conversation that was being had earlier.

Your main point was not correct.

Roster spots while redshirting or injured don’t really take up spots. Heck, the roster is now huge. It’s playing time and getting on the field that is important.

Older more experienced and better players will be on rosters and taking roster spots, not lesser and undeveloped frosh who used to
Redshirt.

I can’t believe how little some of you understand about football. You can’t understand how Joe and extra year for experienced players takes away playing time and schollies for younger players.

Again not true. Take soccer you have 28 roster spots. If 8 girls get injured this year you can’t add any, stuck with 20 players. There i
Are no more redshirts or medical waivers

They quite literally do take up roster spots. For example, Eli Gillman redshirted. If 5 to play 5 existed when he was a freshman, he likely would have played some, but the coaches wanted to make sure he got 4 full years to play. I highly doubt FCS programs are going to avoid taking in and developing HS recruits. Not much is going to change here.

I am talking football. This is a football board. Yes, I understand not adding. With football, you only have 22 starters and 105 on roster.

They already are reducing high school recruits. They are keeping and going to keep more veterans. In the case of Eli, he would have played much more as a frosh. You are confusing essentially two-deeps and playing time with rosters. The number of good and experienced players has gone up, but total playing time hasn’t.

I asked you if you were referring to the overall roster or the two deep, and you said the overall roster. Don’t blame me if you can’t remember what you said.

Btw, UM is bringing in more HS recruits than last year. Quite a reduction. ;)

The new rule is just being instituted. Recruiting, offers, acceptances and verbals were already out before the new rule. "The new NCAA Division I "five for five" age-based eligibility rule will be fully implemented for the incoming class in fall 2027, though a transition period applies for the 2026–27 academic year."

Show me what you think you asked and how I responded, and I will explain it to you. You are so inarticulate that it's hard to deal with things you say.
