Which town do I stay in for Griz vs Beavers?

Thanks for the recommendations. I will look at options on the coast around the Newport area along with towns to the north/south.

How is the weather on the coast in the middle of September?

Shooting from the hip here but I'm gonna say cold and rainy.
:ROFLMAO: Reading this reminds me of the first time I ever drove through/around Astoria, OR. I didn't realize the extent of my pure luck at the time, as it was 74 and sunny. Tons of people were out walking their dogs, kids were out riding bikes/skateboards eating ice cream cones, downtown was hopping, we went up to that Coit Tower-looking thing and the whole town had a vibe, man. I was ready to buy house and raise a family there. Upon further review, I learned that I happened upon one of the 3-5 nice days out of 365.

Have relatives that had a house on the beach in Manzenita. We would stay there for a week every year around Labor Day. It was normally sunny, but definitely jacket weather. Crazy part is, there were Elk in the hills in town, so you could look one way and see beach, and look behind you and see Elk. Wife and I would love to own that house (they sold it).

Now to original post. Stay in Corvallis, and drive to Newport to see ocean.

How many stadiums have a pool or patio for your viewing pleasure?
The University of Arizona, Arizona State and Arizona Cardinals stadiums all have patio style open air premium seating options. The Arizona Diamondbacks have the only pool seating in the MLB.

Oregon is an awesome place to visit the coast over the summer. It just doesn’t make sense for me to fly in, rent a car, drive an hour to Corvallis and rent a hotel or Airbnb in a small college town over a college football weekend when I can watch it from a pool or patio at home. Getting to a game in Missoula would be easier and more fun for me. I hope a strong contingent of Griz fans go and it would be worth going for me if I was coming from the PNW or Northern California.

Yet no one asked what you would do, especially the OP.

The one time I visited Corvallis (for non-football reasons), a few years ago, the receptionist at the hotel immediately commented on my Griz hat and it turned out that she was from Missoula but got priced out and decided to move.

She really liked living there. I thought it was a nice town. So I guess that's two endorsements from MT.
