Which teams offense is like Stitt's?

I like that no one can put their finger on exactly what Stitt runs. His O seems pretty balanced and doesn't appear "stubborn" towards one aspect. The more I see, the less I can pinpoint a specific trait of his offense. That is super encouraging imo.

Well, you've sure gone from bitter to better about this hire! :thumb:

Ha. True. But because I had doubts about the hire doesn't mean I hope he fails. He's the man now and he has my support. We're all Griz and we all want the same thing...

In that first video, CSM made McKinney look poor...

Those highlights aren't of McKinney, it jumps to week 2 which isn't mickinneys team I don't think.

McKinney is with South Dakota School of Mines.

One thing I saw on several highlights was how a wide receiver sometimes just hangs around the line of scrimmage rather than run a pattern. A variation on the check down outlet pass to a running back. I haven't seen that before.

Have you not watched a bowl game this season, a ton of teams are doing that, TCU, West Virginia, Oregon, Baylor, those are just off the top of my head.

I watched two bowl games - Rose and Sugar. I guess I wasn't paying close enough attention.

Discussed this subject yesterday with a friend. He said it looks an awful lot like OREGON and what Pflu was doing with his offense using zone read, planned QB runs and designed runs within the passing game. Offensively, this thing looks like West Coast Offense passing scheme of taking advantage of what the D gives. The unique piece to all this is use of the fly sweep, game play tempo & execution.

There is a reason why Sabin was posturing for rule changes to prevent it AND is now trying to play at a quicker pace himself. It's the biggest reason why Kiffin is the OC. EVERYBODY borrows from each other way more than we realize!

Defensively my buddy made a point to talk about how Stitt will help TY with better insights into what looks and coverages give specific spread looks more problems. Another thing he said was now more than ever the game is a battle that involves physical conditioning but more than anything it requires an ELITE level of mental conditioning.

made sense to me enough that I took notes so I could share it with you all

glad you did..........that statement put into action with confident play/action fundamentals of skill and assignment could rival the players/coaching quality at NDSU.
can't wait to see the complete focus stitt brings to the program.

For a guy who has said he doesn't get involved much in defense, CSM sure looked to have a good one in those videos. And, hate to say it, but they look like they get a play off quicker than UM did this year! Holy cow, some of those plays develop darned quickly! Great!

Go Griz!

Exactly what I was thinking. Realize the thread is about Coach Stitt's offense, but I thought the CSM D looked pretty damned good. As for the O, I'm also encouraged by fast play development, a gripe I've had the last few years. Other that, didn't see much that was magic. I'm still completely positive.

Actually the Bobcat offense if close to what Oregon runs, and we finally have the speed athletes, coaching control, and experienced players in the system to run it effectively as we saw last year. The Griz offense will be more Stitty ish than Oregon ish.

But the question is... Will the Cats be bobcat-ish on defense again? :o ;)
