If he still wants to study business management, Missoula would be the much better choice. There's a huge network of UM graduates in the business community both inside and outside of Montana. Especially among former Griz players. If he wants better opportunities after college then Missoula is the way to go.

MSU's business program is no slouch either. I believe msu's entrepreneurship program was rated top 10 nationally within the past few years.

Academically, both msu and um offer good (not great) business programs.

Academically, I'd say it's a tie.

Depends on whether he wants to start his own business or work in business. There's a big difference. If he wants a leg up in the business community both inside and outside of Montana, especially outside of Montana i.e with Nike or a host of other Fortune 500 companies, then Missoula is the place. In today's economic climate, that is a HUGE selling point to a kid looking to major in business management.

Ash was really high on him on signing day, he was named as the top FCS recruit by one national medium, and he was named the offensive scout team player of the year. Lots to be optimistic about, but no one really knows who will be the heir apparent to McGhee. After this upcoming season the job will be wide open for Bleskin, Prukup, or any other interested parties.

Cool...you have an alumnus who has become successful. I think pretty much all business programs in the nation have success stories.

In fact, I think, MSU business Alumnus, Jake Jabs, just donated $25 million to MSU's college of business. That was the largest single donation to any Montana University System campus. Additionally, MSU has representation in the upper echelons of companies like Microsoft, Boeing, Oracle...etc. One noteworthy highly successful businessman who is an MSU alumus is Tanner's dad, Steve. So yeah...I'd say both programs have successful alumni.

Also, I know graduates of both programs who are working fast food or delivering pizza right now.

The other thing about Prukup is that he had interest (and I think offers) from Texas Tech and Rice as a Safety. So he's a very athletic kid. Also, he comes from a rich football stock and has a high football IQ. His grandfather played at USC, and his dad was an assistant at ASU, USC, and also in NFL Europe.

All that said, he hasn't thrown a college pass yet, so we'll see.

This makes me feel pretty good. You know the awesome job that Zanon's UM degree/education helped him land out of college? It's the EXACT same job than me and five other MSU alums landed right out of college a several years after he did.

Neither college of business is that much different from the other when speaking of UM and MSU (although MSU was way more aggressive about getting their graduates jobs back when I graduated) ... although MSU getting a new building in a year or two will sure help spruce it up a lot.

And to suggest that going to UM is going to give anyone a "leg up" on getting a good job in a Fortune 500 company is a wee bit naive.
