When is it going to leak out or get announced that Vigen is departing?

I do not want this to become a program where coaches come to retire. That would be terrible for the program.
100%. I think there is a considerable number of fans who panic at the idea of coaching turnover, thus say, "I want someone who wants to retire here".

Every fan should want this program to be a stepping stone for football coaches. The expectation here is to win championships, and we need coaches with the drive to win championships with the potential to advance their career at bigger schools.

NDSU has perfected the stepping stone carousel. Montana could and should do the same, but we need to stop being afraid of hiring coaches that could leave 5 years down the road. Just like players leave, we reload. Same mindset should apply with our head coach.

Certainly would not shock me if he took this job, I think they would pay him pretty well. He's in the rumor mill at Oregon state also. I'm glad we hired him, and he's been a great fit. Hope he stays but he's earned a shot if he wants it.
Sadly for the Cats, he is staying ~ would you guys like him? :)

Exactly! I've always thought this is a far more attractive job and city compared to any other FCS program. In my opinion it's not close.

Penn State isn’t a bad job. They are the only big time program in Pennsylvania which produces a lot of football talent. It is a far superior job compared to a lot of other Big 10 jobs like Michigan State and Indiana. The only Big 10 job better than Penn State would be Ohio State because Ohio produces even more talent than Pennsylvania.

My info comes from coaches including former Big Sky coaches. I didn’t say he wasn’t a good player. Just no stats and over rated. Why should Gillman’s TD have been called back? You are right on Davis. UM didn’t throw long in part because MSU kept 2 safeties deep. How do you explain the difference between Britt’s good stats last and his bad stats this year? Thx for the info and discussion. I am interested and curious. I hear Brott is a good kid.
I answered both of those questions if you read my post again.

Much of my info comes from knowing current and former coaches. College and high school. Some Griz. Some not. I know and keep in touch with a lot of people. How often do you text and talk to Bobby during the season? Also from current and former players.

What are your football qualifications? Let’s compare.
I know and keep in touch with a lot of former players who played at a high level. College and NFL. Some Griz mostly from other college teams. I know a few guys who played in the 80s as well as guys who played in last 10 years. I know family member of Marty and Brian Schottenheimer and a very close friend of Chuck Pagano as far as connections to NFL coaches.

The Boise St. job is now open! Spencer Danielson gone. Saw in a Facebook post. Wonder if it is true.
Even if that's true, their program is very insular. I doubt they'd hire someone like Vigen who has no ties to them at all.
