Another good example why didn’t the City of Missoula and UM and Athletic Dept team up to try to land a World Cup team. Gonzaga got Egypt, reports are Gonzaga and women soccer are getting 50k a day for lettting Egypt practice and use there soccer field.

Tucson was supposed to get Iran but they switched to Tijuana last minute due to the political tensions with the US. Turkey is up in Mesa. Are any teams in Montana?

Did you ever stop to think that maybe one of the reasons why Missoula wouldn't be used as a basecamp is because is the elevation is too high? And most of the locations hosting world cup games are at sea level or have hardly any elevation at all? There's a lot of reasons why Missoula would never work but perhaps that's one of the biggest.

It’s not because the elevation is too high. Tucson is not that different from Missoula in elevation and Mexico City is more than double Missoula’s elevation. Some suburbs of Tucson such as Vail’s elevation are exactly the same as Missoula.
