Somebody was asking about how much MSU's endowment was compared to UM's and some google-fu I was able to find the 2025 numbers - our google overlords thinks UM was 324 million while MSU was 319 million. So - not a big endowment discrepancy between the two institutions.

It only matters how the endowment is used. Is MSU restricted like UM where it can’t be used for athletics.

Another good example why didn’t the City of Missoula and UM and Athletic Dept team up to try to land a World Cup team. Gonzaga got Egypt, reports are Gonzaga and women soccer are getting 50k a day for lettting Egypt practice and use there soccer field.

Tucson was supposed to get Iran but they switched to Tijuana last minute due to the political tensions with the US. Turkey is up in Mesa. Are any teams in Montana?

Not I’m aware of. Another revenue opportunity not being pursued. Is like the dept doesn’t know they exist or don’t care to put in time and effort.

Have you been on Gonzaga and Montana’s campuses? Gonzaga has 4 dedicated soccer fields adjacent to each other. UM has South Campus stadium which lacks lights unless you want to kick the Griz football team out of their facilities.
