PlayerRep said:Overview
Undersized inside linebacker better-suited at the WILL spot in a 3-4, where he can be protected by size around him. He has enough speed and nose for the football to find work on this level, but it may not translate to success in the pros due to his lack of traits and plus speed. He's not twitchy or athletic enough to get away without top-notch instincts and recognition. He's just average in those areas. He loves football. The intangibles and special teams production could give him a shot.
Strengths
Three-year starter
Awarded Temple Tough single-digit number before junior season
Patient sifting through misdirection before attacking
Effective radar as gap-shooter to disrupt near goal line
Impressive solo tackle rate of 65 percent
Quick slide-step to slip blocker and find his tackle try
Adequate coverage instincts dropping into space
Has core special teams experience with history of production
Has running back carries and fake punt production
Weaknesses
Small frame as inside linebacker
Struggles to stack and shed climbing blocks
Play recognition and instincts are just average
Would like to see him play faster and zip downhill ahead of blocking scheme
Play speed and pursuit quickness are just average
Loses gap integrity when avoiding blocks
Lacks twitch and short area quickness to stay with man cover duties

One thing I picked up on in PR's post was the special teams production of this Temple guy. You have to tell me because I don't remember but did DO play special teams recently. Because if he didn't, that could make a difference between two guys trying to get a shot if everything else was about equal.

Dutch Lane said:Jason Ferris, LB from Western signed as a free agent with the panthers. He was 2 time naia first team all American and two time frontier conference defensive player of year. He was one of 5 national finalists for the Cliff Harris award ( best small college defensive player) He is close to the same size as Dante a bit faster though. He played for Dillon in 3 state championship games. He was a senior when Troy Andersen was a sophomore. So I guess whoever was coach in 2015, I think it was Stitt, missed on him too. Smh. Wow two kids from the same Montana high school team possibly playing in the NFL (Troy still has to make) Lol.
Interesting story Jason grew up on a ranch outside Twin Bridges and has known Steve Bartkowski since he was a little kid because Barkowlsi works as a fishing guide down there. Anyway Barkowski took him under his wing as a kid and encouraged him to play 11 man for Dillon rather then 8 man at Twin. He also hooked him up with an NFL agent friend which must have worked out well. Lol After last season he moved to Bozeman and worked out at Dane Fletcher‘s combine program and was welcomed to the bobcat pro day that they filmed and sent to the nfl. His dad told me he can also long snap and play H-back or tight end, but he is a hell of an LB obviously. His sister Peyton was a star at Twin Bridges and for the Lady Bobcats and now plays professionally in Spain. We got quit missing on these f###[#] Dillon kids.

Are you saying his coach Bobby Hauck, whose brother Tim coaches for the Eagles, and whose friend Marty Morning is a consultant for the Eagles (and saw Olson play), don't know what they are talking about?
Also, I searched and didn't find any particular draft round predictions that I made, and certainly no 4th round one. You have an amazing ability to just make up stuff. I thought Olson would be drafted, tho, and you didn't.
Now, let's bet $100 on whether he will play in the NFL.

Play in what context? I was consistent in what I’ve said. I said he wouldn’t get drafted, would be a high priority I drafted free agent and in the right situation, may end up making a roster.
As an Eagles fan, I certainly hope his high football IQ makes up for his lack of speed. The Eagles had the slowest team in the NFL last year, especially on defense. The prospect of adding the slowest linebacker, out of those entering the draft this year, doesn’t appeal to me...but who knows, he may make up for it with strong skills in alternative areas.
