advantages to being an un-drafted free-agent ?

You are able to choose the best team you fit with. Although a draft pick has a better chance making the team being on a team that you and your agent feel you can fit in with can make a difference

I'm not so sure that's true for the really low picks. Unfortunately, I couldn't find an analysis using that – "making the team" – as a basis. I did find a study that used "starting team member" as the basis. It's not brand new (2014), but should be at least indicative. Of the 595 designated starters for that year, 13.6% came into the league as Undrafted Free Agents. Only 4.2% of those came into the league as 7th-round picks, and only 4.9% from the 6th round. Perhaps there might be more backups and "roll players" who were drafted than came in as UFA, but I suspect the proportion might not be all that different.

He was doomed with the combine 40 and bench reps. Tim Haucks team that probably has as much info on him as anyone took 3 LBs

Bench reps not so much

40 time killed him. He’s just too slow to play in the NFL.

Guy was one hell of an FCS player though.

Trey Wingo with a nice shoutout to Dante and a few other undrafted players. Apparently ESPN had a camera feed at his home. Best of luck as a UDFA to him!

No he’s fast enough, it was just a bad performance. He’ll still be an UFA. Somebody will take him, a mini camp at the very least.

The coronavirus outbreak really hurt FCS and small school kids. Without the chance to do team visits, teams stuck to bigger schools. Dante had no chance to make another impression on teams with personal onsite visits.

Dante got his shot at the NFL Combine and didn’t perform well enough to be drafted. Most FCS players would like that chance.

Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit....
