What is going on with the Calhoun's?

DuCharme said:
They were both at their signing day event. Long Beach Poly had 23 athletes sign LOI's .

I came across a picture gallery of the event. Both brothers are pictured. Also a picture of a list of the athletes signing. The Calhoun's names are not on that list.

The gallery consists of 40 images. The list is image 32. In more images, one of the brothers is wearing a grey Adidas sweater with black stripes, the other is wearing a solid black sweater.

This school is a college football factory. Iman Marshall, #1 overall CB prospect, is in this group.

Jeremy is the one in the grey adidas jacket, and Justin is the one in the black jacket in those photos in the gallery.

Here is Jeremy signing, with the girl athlete in the glasses looking on:

The Long Beach Press-Telegram reports on Long Beach Poly football players. " Twin brothers Jeremy and Justin Calhoun elected to go to Montana as a package deal"

Maybe only Jeremy got a scholarship so they can't comment on Justin? I'm just throwing out a guess here...

That's kids gonna be a damn good back......and that's crazy just how many kids they got going to college athletics in general. Why didn't anyone get these guys Montana Swag to represent. I see two kids wearing Sact State and Cal Poly gear....I also heard that the Calhoun brothers kicked their ass in the parking lot immediately after signing day was over!

Not sure why Justin wouldn't have received a schollie-though obviously we don't know for sure. I really like what Justin did as a receiver-great hands. He had one of my favorite videos of all our receiver recruits. Their sister tweeted she was excited the brothers would be going to school together. Based on where they went to school, they wont have any trouble with the speed of the game in college.

I don't think it's as simple as one young man receiving aid and the other not. It might even be a little offensive to suggest that's the case.
It seems these two young men have different upbringings and consequently there's a lot of information online about one but not the other. Let's just respectfully leave it at that.

I am stoked to have these young men coming to Montana! I just can't figure out how they didn't sign with CSU being their Dad was a stud legacy WR there? I'm glad they didn't!!!

I would not be surprised if both Justin and Jeremy don't RS next year. Pure athletes coming from Poly. :thumb:

Long Beach Poly Signing Day 2015 video, from HS library.

2:30 Jeremy Calhoun introduced to the school
3:15 Justin Calhoun introduced to the school

Long Beach Poly has the toughest schedule in the nation next season. Just in non-conference alone they are on the road playing Max Preps 2014's #2 team in the country (De La Salle) and just added the #1 team (Bishop Gorman) to their schedule on the road as well. And their regular season is brutal. This is a highly, highly competitve HS team.

I join Griz Nation when I say that I am extremely excited about these two elite players.

With the new offensive philosophy, and all the new players...Montana offensive football promises to be electrifying for years to come.

I can't wait to watch a guy like Justin Calhoun return kicks/punts......watch his highlight video against many top teams/ESPN top 300 athletes in the nation.....these two were the last 2 to sign on Wed, but could be the biggest impact skill position players in this class with that kind of quickness/speed....Van is the only one he reminds me of in regards to recent Griz. I'm shocked possibly Colorado State missed on them with their Dad's connection there and what they did at the highest level of high school ball. Sounds like numerous FBS programs wanted one or the other, but not both, and they wanted to stick together.

Biggest issue is will they get homesick after a year or not be able to handle the cold.....I hope so, as they could be really fun to watch in the coming years.

I don't want to get ahead of ourselves here, but if they play 4 years at Montana, they will each put up MONSTER numbers...and get looks from the MANY nfl scouts that come to Montana EVERY year and scoop up Griz. Not to mention the very likely-hood of playing for National Championships.

They look like such good kids too, from that short interview at their signing day event. They will love it here. Jeremy even said he really liked it here on his visit. Justin had yet to visit though.
