What if it happened at UM?

I know this much, I wouldn't be a hypocrite about the kid. If I loved him, I'd still love him, if I didn't I still woukdn't. Not ONE EWU poster here didn't love Big Play VA, and now many of those posters with the same handle as their Egriz handle are ripping him to pieces on that other board. I'm not perfect, and I'm never gonna be, but I like to think I stay away from being a hypocrite.

Wait a second......................what other board? Why would Egal fans be ripping up bobcat nation?

Did eGriz implode when Raul Allegre transferred to Texas?

I think AWF started a poll about it, but I can't seem to find it.

That was the Jan Stenerud poll. You can find it in the archives.

That's right. My mistake. It wouldn't be hard to find. It seems like every thread around here anymore is a pissing match, dick measuring contest, or Jan Stenerud poll.

If our player did the jig dance to hip hop during pre game and left our team I'd be so damn glad I'd stitt all over the place.

Isn't he that skier that won a gold medal or something?

I am tired of continuing Jan Stenerud polls; that's all you see anymore.

Wait a minute. Whoa, whoa, whoa! WAIT. A. MINUTE!

Jan Stenerude is the NFL Hall of Fame kicker. Google says he played at Montana STATE

Google also says no player from UofM is in the NFL Hall of Fame.

Must be a mistake. Anybody know the correct info?

Actually, when you Google "Jan Stenerude" Google shows results for "Jan Stenerud."
I think Jan Stenerude is what the middle sister on the Brady Bunch went by when Carol was married to the first guy.

Thanks for the correction. I knew I should have put this in the askCDA thread.

While ewoo and um are in the same conference the situations are entirely different. Just like someone else said, our pro prospects do not need to transfer to get NFL attention. EWU on the other hand, while it may be a better team right now, does NOT produce NEAR as much NFL talent as we do. In fact I would imagine that the Griz is a great place to go for 2-3 star type players who wish to be in the nfl but probably won't get a shot at a pac-12 school. I dunno the exact numbers but UM has to be one of the top if not the top school for the amount of players in the pros for the fcs.

All that being said, I do NOT think VA would have left if he was at UM. If there were a universe where he was at our school and did transfer, I would think it was an unnecessary risk. I would wish him the best while I thought he made a mistake.

Doug Betters U of M from 74-76. 1st team all Big Sky So and Jr season and then transferred to Nevada in 77. Drafted in 6th rd by Mia where in 83 he won Defensive Player of the Year. Can't find anything on eGriz about how the fans felt.

Gonna happen. WF is enrolled now, graduates early - takes home the Payton and a NC. Thinks back to the shoota decision and decides to take his talents to South Beach to QB the U. Would you trade a NC for this scenario?

What, it could happen...

What if UM had a QB with FBS talent who was trying to raise his NFL Draft profile and he transferred to an FBS powerhouse for his senior year to try to prove to NFL scouts he can play against the best of the best?

Would you (check all that apply):
1. Wish him the best of luck and move on?
2. Whine about him turning his back on his team?
3. Say it was a dick move?
4. Not root for him for the remainder of his career?
5. Publicly complain about transfer rules?

Follow up:
What if you were an EWU fan AND a big fan of a local NFL team whose QB ignored his college coach's warnings about commitment to the FB team and chose to try to play pro baseball before taking advantage of the same transfer rule by leaving his previous college to play his senior year at another college.

Would you:
1. Fail to see the similarities?
2. See the similarities and give the NFL QB the Shoota treatment?
3. See the similarities and try to reconcile your support of one QB with your lack of support for the other.

I'll hang up and listen.

One element is missing in your scenario....Adams will have already received his undergraduate degree when he suits up at Oregon.

I thought that was a given under the rule. What am I missing?

You think it's bad now - I remember it was much worse back in the 70's! After every Bobcat post about Stenerud, somebody on this board would post "Jan" instead of "yawn." And the Griz fans would all "lol" and the Boncat fans would be all  .

Those were simpler times on eGriz. I miss them.

I see nothing wrong with transferring and the players shouldn't get abused for doing what's best for themselves. Coaches won't hesitate to cut players that aren't preforming, and players who lose their spot often transfer. Players need to do what is best for their own future, it's their life. We just hope we make an environment and a program that is attractive enough that players want to play for us.

Something is in the air today. Unbelievable, 3 egriz posts in 1 day that I completely agree with that are 100% on target. What is wrong here today? :thumb:

You must not have heard the Ron Ash State of the Commitment Address!
