What am I missing with Ah Yat?

Isn’t the bottom line winning? The best athlete should play before the favored athlete.
I didn't say anything about favored. I pointed out - we...you/me can't and don't have all of the information that shapes the coaching decisions. That's it.

After what I saw on Saturday I'd be surprised if Fife doesn't bail. Hauck's BS isn't going to be tolerated by anyone with options.
Maybe. But going someone else for last year, where the new place is no sure thing and may not be a top team, doesn’t seem appealing to me.

I agree. If Fife is in the dog house, then tell him he won’t start or play very little. Maybe the coaches have informed him of that?

Because everything about AhYat is better and his ceiling is through the roof. He does things mentally no other QB on the roster does and thats why Pease wants him as his gunslinger.

There is nothing Fife does better than Ah Yat. Nothing
That’s crazy talk. Look at every single stat available for a quarterback and Fife has him beat in spades.

Here are just a few things he does better:
- complete more passes
- throw more TDs
- win more games
- throw less INTs
- pick up way more 1st downs
- throw a better deep ball
- make the offense actually go

You know, just a few things you want out of a quarterback. Sheesus.

-Fires up the coach and sideline...

Stats don't tell this story. Fife has played a lot more than AhYat so the numbers. Add this to your list. Fife has less dropped balls.

Reading coverages, processing information, timing and anticipation. AY has a better feel for the game in and out of the pocket, usually moves away from pressure better, much more athletic and accurate. Most of the team likes him a lot more than other QBs on the roster. They know, they play with him. Pease knows too

I agree with you that Stats don’t always tell the whole story….but dude I’m literally watching this with my own eyes and even I can tell there is a night and day difference in how this offense looks, operates, and actually runs when Fife is at the helm. It is DRASTICALLY different.

0 points for the whole first half against a 2-9 team. What was to like?

Ah Yat was in way over here his head @ WA-GRIZ--at half we had 120 yards of total offense, including 50 yards of passing, and O points vs. the worst D in the Big Sky !!!

Logan comes in, cleans up Ah Yat's mess, throws for 197 yards, O int's, and puts 28 points on board !!!ayi

Keali'i may develop into a great QB like his dad, though I am disappointed that after playing in 4-5 regular season and playoff games last year, he didn't make more progress this year. While he is a tremendous runner--great speed and maneuversbility, juking some defenders right out of their jocks, his passing remains mediocre at best, throwing off his back foot, getting happy feet, staring down his receivers, not going through his reads, and holding onto the ball too long !!!

Logan Fife is head and shoulders above Keali'i Ah Yat right now. I do hope that Keali'i in 2 years will become as good as Logan Fife is today and as good as his dad Brian was as our starting QB almost 30 years ago !!!

I'll tell you want I disliked - the play calling, blocking, drops... I'd say that's what felt like night/day from the 1st to 2nd half, not the QB play. I don't know why there are so many acting like Fife would've won us more games - he was still incredibly inconsistent and mediocre in the games where he was our sole QB playing. Even if Ah Yat is not the future - I'm not going to pretend Fife is head and shoulders above him, and I would much rather see a transfer come in than be stuck with Fife as the guy next year.

Yeah, Fife is so mediocre he passed for over 300 yards two games in a row and was named not only the Big Sky Offensive POW but the national FCS Offensive POW after our road win on the ugly, eyeball-puking red turf in Cheney !!!

I guess The University of Minnesota, currently @ 6-4 in The Big 10, offered Logan a full-ride scholarship to play Big 10 football in Minneapolis this year, because Logan SUCKS and the Gophers just felt sorry for him !!!

Cool story, I wont argue with you. You obviously cant see generational talent. Most of you can't that why you support Hauck when the majority of the team hates him.

Enjoy your week

Didn't watch Brian, play I wasn't born yet. I would highly doubt he threw high all the time due to bad footwork and balance. Looking at Ah Yats stats from back then, he was a WAY better QB than Fife. Fife has played the majority of the season and we are an average Big Sky team with a slightly better than average record. Wow, impressive
