What am I missing with Ah Yat?

Its a pretty easy choice, do you want a dynamic playmaker leading your team?

Or do you want another Cam Humphrey managing a game, keeping it close and losing again. Most of you seem to make this choice which is odd.

He didn't look too dynamic in the 28 minutes he played Saturday. To what do you attribute that?
Fontes dropping almost every ball thrown his way. Lack of a running game and the OL Everyone played better in the 2nd half so would Ah Yat. Don't take my word for it, his OC and team think he's the guy.

You are spot one. The team played exponentially better in the second half. Players play harder for players they respect.

I think there are many factors at play here. OLine, play calls, and schemes are what make a QB flourish. I think KAY will get there but its gonna take development and game reps which he hasn't gotten much as of late. KAY is a RPO QB like Cliff. Fife is a pocket passer and needs a strong OLine which we don't have. The griz are built to go more up tempo with our size but we are trying to play more drop back and pass. And besides playing against crappy defenses, Fife has not shown me anything that makes me think he can do it. He shows glimpses but no consistency. Barring a SDSU win or deep playoff run, I think we see a transfer notice for Fife the Sunday/Monday after the SDSU game. I still say start Fife but he needs to be ON. He needs to get rid of the butterfingers and hold on to the fucking ball when running. Open the damn playbook. If there are any stops left in, pull em. Let the young guns play and light up the score board. Something, anything to give us hope.

Was Ah Yat recruited much out of high school?
He committed in June 2022. Early. First zGrizcommit that year, “Quoting Coach Hauck: "Keali'i had an interesting recruiting process. With Hawaii so locked down during the pandemic, he didn't have a lot of film. But he came to our camp and just blew it out. He was absolutely terrific at camp. He also has good high school film from this fall. He's a really great get for us. He was a man of his word with this commitment, and is just a really outstanding get as the quarterback in this class."
