West Florida joining the UAC in 2026 - just a brief stopover on the way to the FBS?

If you say so.

We’ve been trying to find a logical reason for these rules for over a day now, and we can’t. Every single justification makes no sense, so we’re left with “it’s the rule.” I mean, you literally just answered my “why ban them” question with “there’s a rule”, so it’s not just me that says so, you do, too.

Shit, anyone can read a rule book. Existence of a rule doesn’t justify the rule.

Can't be any logic behind the rule that seemingly no actual schools are complaining about, just posters on messageboards.

Didn’t Bama post a whole book learnin’ article about St. Thomas getting f’ed by this, or did I dream that?

Either way, I’m glad it seems like we agree.
He posted an article by someone bitching about the process. I didn't see any actual complaining by St Thomas. Article seems a little thin on actual research for a basis of the actual logic.

Got it. Kinda makes sense, though, right? If I’m the one actually crossing the street, I’m breakdancing because that’s the only way across without breaking the law. Doesn’t mean I think it makes any sense or actually prevents lizards from becoming accountants. 🤷‍♂️

Dont got time to quote all the good stuff in all the articles but theres tons of stuff about St Thomas trying to get the probation reduced. The NCAA did actually knock off one year for them from 5 to 4.

The timeline feels so arbitrary. It would make sense that teams would become eligible when they meet the requirements as opposed to a standard timeline.

Amen. If you meet all the requirements, you should be able to play in the playoffs. I think the best way would be to just prohibit the actual "move up" until the requirements are met. Of course, this would require DII (or whatever lower level) to amend its own arbitrary rule to allow otherwise DII eligible teams (DII eligible in every way except for their announced plan to move up) to compete in DII playoffs through their final year.

So, in sum, get rid of waiting periods altogether.

I don't think that will happen.
