West Florida added to the 2027 schedule

Hawaii players have a lot fewer choices where they can go to play. I don't recall me saying the griz should not recruit in Hawaii ? Carrol should be the focus. The griz have a hard time recruiting in Montana least of all Florida. If you have been paying attention, which I guess you are not since you gave up on the Griz you would have noticed that when the Griz try to sign portal players from the south they won't come here.
I believe the Griz have a Florida kid already on the roster, frosh qb?

Oldn says he don't count cus he's a coaches kid. He also says Schwartz don't count cus he transferred from another school and that Adams don't count cus he was born in Wyoming before he played high school ball in Florida. We got three kids with Florida ties but Oldn says none of them count.

And that it's easy for kids from Hawaii to come to Montana but really hard for kids from Florida.

Yes of course you are right. That is way too far. We should not recruit there, and we definitely shouldn't recruit Hawaii because that's even farther away! We would never be able to get anybody from Hawaii to come ALL the way to Montana. Wait a minute...
This reminds me of when Montana played at Sam Houston State in the home and home series (my wife and I attended both), specifically the second game in 2004 in Huntsville. We went to both and we were at different duty stations, Fort Bragg, NC and Fort Jackson, SC at that time.
Any way, at the game in Huntsville, I was looking at the program and the guy behind me was too apparently. SHSU had maybe two players from Louisiana and the guy behind me goes, 'they have kids from everywhere, even Canada.' I want to say there was a guy on that team from Florida. I mean, we get transfers in once in a while, but no, it's not an active recruiting area for Griz football.
Also, that game was on TV, which was very rare for Sam Houston at that stage and the same guy commented on it and I turned around and said, 'all our games are on TV.' Didn't go over too well with the wifey, that last comment.

They were the 2019 Division II national champions and now play in the UAC alongside teams like Abilene Christian, Austin Peay, and Central Arkansas. 2026 will be West Florida's first season playing in the UAC, and their first playing at the FCS level.
I went to their national title game in McKinney when I was living down there. My good friend is a west Florida Alumn and we always joked that it would be awesome to see them in Missoula some day.

It happened way faster than we anticipated. Haha.
