Wentz Will Go #1 In The 2016 NFL Draft

Good point, Glendive. Whence definitely didn't impress anyone with his durability, and that's really important when you start playing against the big kids. Another concern I have is whether his heart is really in the game. Someone mentioned once that he said he doesn't want to play in LA because he likes to hunt and/or gather too much. I don't want a QB whose mind is on recreational things.

Question is can Wretch stay healthy taking the hits. RGIII couldn't.

That is the question with any skill position player, especially QB.
Honestly, what is it with the bashing of Wentz by some here? I think some of us GRIZ fans are jealous of NDSU's success. Why not respect and refer to him as Wentz? At the very least, he has earned respect.

He's probably pretty pissed off about it. I know if I was about to be drafted, I would frequent an FCS message board to make sure they spell my name correctly and that everyone agrees that I'm better than another QB in the draft.

Wendt is likely no different.

It's really cute how these UND fans think the trophy rock on the pass near butte is a "mountain." I guess it would be to them.

Gives me an idea for a new nickname for them: "fat-landers." It works on so many levels

That might be the most genius thing I've ever read.
On a side note, does anyone remember who went #1 in the 1995 MLB draft? I want to say Piazza, but I'm not sure. And before any NDU fat-lander chimes in, no, I'm not talking about pizza.

Piazza is the latest round draft pick to make it to the Hall of Fame. I think the Dodgers picked him as a favor to Tommy Lasorda - he is his uncle or some relation.

That's right. I was thinking Ben Davis.

I humbly apologize to you, Mr. Caisson Wrintz, #1 draft pick, for not respecting you, and for being jealous of NDU's success. I'd drive over the Grand Forks to apologize in person, but you're probably working out with the Eagles. Or maybe the Doobie Brothers.

Why would any kid in his right mind go north from SoDak to go to college? Isn't that where all the Fats live?

Most fats, but not all fats, live there. Some live in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Hell, some probably even live in the good states. Ventz made the right choice by becoming a Sioux. I don't think he would have made it as a Golden Gopher.

Huh?...North Dakota State is 2 -1 against Minnesota since moving to FCS having beaten them the last two times in 2007 and 2011.

Haha! Good one, 'tip! It's widely known that every Bizon would give his third nut to be a Golden Gopher.

Gophers - golden or otherwise - are bottom rung rodents with orthodontist-challenged overbites whose sole purpose is to honeycomb perfectly good ground until a developer comes along and gases'em. Also make for a hell of a worse looking sweatshirt than a bizon...by contrast prairie dogs rock...

Yeah, mods......
Can we keep these fat-landers off the main board? I think everyone understands that their former QB, that virtually nobody here cares about, is going to be drafted. Maybe that's new for their program or something.

Cleveland Browns will select Wentz

While it appears they have secured a ferret who can run the abacus, I think the dropped out of the running by trading their choice to Philadelphia. How could you dis the kid like this?

jgrizz2t got his insider news from an old yellowed newspaper- but the article was about Pres.Grover Cleveland - not the Cleveland Browns. :?

Wow, what a nice thing to say! Even so, I don't think I will go back to edit my post to add your input. Don't take it personally.

My father-in-law got a "gopher gun" from a fat-lander. I'll admit, it's pretty awesome. I think the laziness inspires creative ways to avoid walking. It's basically a super-long acetylene torch you stuff down the little bastards' holes, pump the gas, and flick the switch--boom! I can't help thinking of Cadyshack every time we bust it out. I love to murder gophers almost as much as bobcats

You are getting desperate CDA. The biggest stage he ever played on gave away trophies. Trophies that say NCAA on them and not ones that shaped like some mountain over by Butte.

Haha! Let me guess: ESPN3? Give it up, Wendt himself very likely admits it. You should, too.

Check the ratings and see what game had the most viewers, that should settle this little dispute, would you agree?

No way! By that metric, the final episode of Friends is the main stage. I think we can all agree that is not the case. Wa-GRIZ in general is the main stage of the FCS. It's pretty obvious. Alerus Center? Not so much.

Look, it's just my opinion, but I have major concerns about how Wench handles pressure in big moments. He looked starstruck to me in that game. Then he got injured. As a fan of my new local team, I'm leaning Goff. Seems like the better QB, honestly.

I didn't figure you would be interested in the truth.

Anyway, this thread seems like it is dying so here is the truth, CDA.

The Bison played on ESPN twice this year. Once with 981,000 viewers in a preseason game in which they lost. They also played in December in the playoffs with 1.644 million viewers.

I think that puts the "main stage" argument to rest.

What? The December game was on ESPN? I could've sworn it was on ESPN2, because I was watching a 30 for 30 rerun on the flagship, I think. BTW, didnt you say most fat-landers were still overflowing the banks of some pond in NoDak during NDU's loss on the main stage? Maybe their bi-annual recreation time cut into the viewership of the loss. Or, let me ask you this: Did the farmers experience any inclement weather during the week leading up to the loss?
