Am any of said the kicking game would cost a game this year. Not only cost us the game but also the playoffs.AZDoc said:I think we can say this is the game kicking lost for us. Now i know there were other things, but kicking forced the hand a little. Blocked punt td, pat and fg misses cost the game.

I found it funny that Stitt told the announcer that his receivers as a unit are better than last years  Gotta think his analysis of players is a bit off.
So he could get sacked a few more times or have more of his passes dropped? Don't know if you noticed but the GRIZ ran the ball pretty damn good today.timjayko said:IdahoGrizFan said:Why did we not throw down field? Was UNCs secondary that strong?
I'm wondering the same thing... after Chalich lit up the scoreboard last game by throwing down the field going into this game against one of the weakest secondary in the Big Sky statistically it looks like Stitt's gameplan was instead to try and pound with the run, slow down the clock, throw screen passes and short check downs all game hoping to win the Time of Possession battle...
Instead of go right into ground and pound and ToP battle, I would have tried to throw the ball down the field at least at the beginning of the game... and go from there
By not throwing the ball down the field Montana's offense pretty much set up Northern Colorodo's defense to fill up the box all game to stop the run and short passes... way to go Stitt Offense! So exciting to watch all those screen passes all day :thumb:

Yup the players aren't fully to blame when they are put in the wrong position and formation on so many plays both sides of the ball. At the end of the day yes the players miss the tackles, turn the ball over, mess up on their assignments, but this game didn't feel like that at all. It felt like we were not only outplayed, but we were outcoached yet again..grizd said:Don't blame kids or talent, coaching is problem.
