That was the welcome to Boulder game/year for Dan Hawkins. He gave us the below gem after that first season.
"It's Division I football! It's the Big 12! It ain't intramurals! You've got two weeks after finals. You've got a week at July 4th. You've got a week before camp starts. That's a month! That's probably more vacation than you guys (reporters) get. And we're a little bummed out that we don't get three weeks? Go play intramurals, brother. Go play intramurals."

So is oldn, but apparently his dementia kicked in and he forgot to submit his picks. He went 3-0 though; he called the weather postponement.

I used a 1976 bicentennial Kennedy half dollar to make the call on those two! If you have the option of the Eisenhower dollar, it might do just as good, but I was going with the 50/50 concept for my decisions.The San Diego and the Chadron games are killing me. I’ve changed my votes about 4 times now… hey, if there was a 50/50 option for +.5 points.
I'm trying to figure out if I'm crazy or everyone else is. I've read and heard several picks on the Idaho State/Southern Utah game, and everyone is picking SUU. I actually heard someone say today that SUU is a good team. Are they magically good this year for some reason I'm not aware of? They weren't good last year. Yes they're at home but we just saw how Idaho State played against UNLV on their home field. Maybe I am crazy but I have Idaho State winning that one.
SUU does look like it won't be a pushover. In 2024, they finished 7-5. Notable games they had, they lost to #14 Tarleton State 37-38 in Cedar City, #17 Abilene Christian 25-28 in Abilene, TX, and beat #24 Central Arkansas 38-31 in Conway, AR. I picked ISU because I do think that ISU has been getting better the past few years, but SUU could certainly take this game. But the Bengals' performance last week has me leaning towards an ISU win.
I think Google did me dirty. I was looking up last season's results and it gave me something totally different than what their actual results were. Thanks for that info. It might change my pick but maybe not! Now I'm wondering if I need to go look look over all my picks again.
And also, thanks for not calling me crazy but instead just giving me the information I was obviously lacking!
Probably got the good 'ol Google AI summary. I did a search just now for "How did Southern Utah do in football in 2024" and this is one part of the summary it gave me:
"The win against Utah provided national recognition for Southern Utah and indicated a growing belief in the program's ability to compete at a high level in FCS football."
Southern Utah lost to Utah 49-0.
You're exactly right now I feel really stupid. I swear the first time I looked it up it said Southern Utah was 4 - 7 last year. Then when I looked it up again later it said 6-5. I really didn't find their 7-4 all that impressive myself.
I feel like the UAC is overrated beating West GA 28-0 on the road isn't all that great. North Alabama and Austing Peay are really over hyped. Love Austin Peay website though... letsgopeay.com.
Talked to the President of Sam Houston State after she moved from there to Huntsville, TX and that was not one of her proud pasts for being at APSU.

Can't wait for the Oregon - MSU game today. The scats are the the best team in the FCS and Brent Vigen is the best coach in the FCS. The scats are going to destroy the Ducks today unless the Ducks run and throw the ball well and stop MSU's running and passing game. If that happens, the Ducks should score more points and win the game.
Well, after I was educated on Southern Utah's ACTUAL 2024 results, I was going to go change my pick. But I forgot. So I guess I'm locked in and we'll see how it goes.... If Idaho State wins I'll look like a genius. If not I'm blaming Google AI.
