WEBER

26-15 WSU, just over 3 minutes left in the half. Breunig is the only player doing anything offensively. I think he has 10 so far. Offensively, we have to spread the court out more. It is a cluster so far, and looks ugly. This is the start I was concerned about earlier in this thread.

Every year, these Weber announcers complain about how the refs call the game and how a"physical' Montana is...the old guy last year insulted Tinkle, as I recall...

Breunig with 15 points so far. Bolemboy scoring from everywhere too, he has 14 points. Those 2 not disappointing. 1st half coming to an end.

Mathias Ward. Miss seeing him play. Wasn't it at Weber a couple of years ago when a frustrated Weberite fan hollered at the team, "hey, will somebody guard Lincoln down here?"

I think he misses Dutch Belknap misses Tinkle. Not sure if you caught it or not, Dutch started a sentence with his voice sounding frustrated. He was about to go off, someone muted him or something happened where whatever he was saying got cut off. There was pure silence for a few seconds. When they returned the other announcer was on his own for a little. I wonder if someone had warn Dutch and give him a short timeout. :thumb:

As for the game, GRIZ playing them tough, even with a bad start. GRIZ are not in foul trouble so I think we will be doubling them a lot more and trying to force more turnovers. I have a feeling Bolomboy and Breunig will each get their points, and best to focus on limiting the other players.

I am beginning to think Bolomboy and Breunig each may sniff the NBA. They certainly are athletic and versatile games to get themselves a look. :thumb:

Liked the strategy at the end of the half there. Make sure Weber didn't have time to get much of a look. Nice to be in that situation with a couple fouls to give.

I like that the refs are letting them play so far. It does crack me up when Bolomboy gets physical underneath nothing is said, when Breunig does it he's pushing off. Dutch hasn't been as animated this game as he usually was when Tinkle was coach. I think when Tinkle was here he paid more attention to Tinkle on the sideline than he did the game.

As for the game, the Griz really need to get Someone other than Breunig (anyone...please?!) going on offense. Gregory is 1-7 and I worry like what we've seen at other times this season if he gets frustrated it starts affecting other areas of his game. Hope he can come out in the 2nd half and knock down a couple shots early & forget about the first half.

Why doesn't Dunn penetrate very often this season? He is a better ball handler than Gregory. Gregory consistently goes to the hole. We need that from Dunn too!!!

Great hustle by Dunn. Not sure if it is a flagrant, but can see it called. Breunig is the only player who showed up this game for the GRIZ. He and Bolomboy are men among boys this game.

Seems that way right now. Breunig has 22 of the Griz 37 points right now.

Good hustle by Dunn, unfortunately got the guy across the head going for the ball.

I do have to say I'm a little surprised on the lack of hustle I've seen on a couple other instances out there though (not naming players just making an observation). I realize the Griz are down pretty big right now but that's not something you want to see. Temporary mental lapse caused by frustration I guess.

We've seen this type of thing with the poor shooting a lot on the road this year... shots don't fall initially, it gets into their heads and bad shots start getting forced & play suffers in other areas too.

Still plenty of time left in this game though for someone else to get going offensively and hopefully cut the lead to something more manageable.

Not sure I've seen a team like this year's Griz...they are either good or bad..not much in between. Weber is not good either, but UM is no competition for them so far...
