THIS is the CP team that beat Long Beach and lost a close 70-68 game to UCLA!

Nice work for Weber, they can win the whole thing...good for them
Long Beach St. was down by 30 pts last I saw.

You are mistaken first11 - Cal Poly beat UCLA at UCLA 70 - 68. They split with Long Beach State winning at home 79 - 73 and losing at Long Beach 48 - 50.

I stand corrected, thanks...beating UCLA in LA..impressive. LB is not a bad team either, surprised they are not doing well in tourney.

Exactly right. Weber got screwed and should have been in the NIT. I disagree with those who say that the NIT and CIT mean nothing. It's enough that its one more game for the seniors. Its tourney experience for the underclassmen. And best of all, Whomever wins these tourneys can justifiably flip the NCAA the bird.

Ummmmm....NO

So you are saying the NIT winner definitely should have been left out of the NCAA selection? I say the NIT winner is at least of first round caliber in the Dance, and has total justification for claiming they should have been in. But my point remains: Weber and NoDak will benefit from this additional game experience (that MSU, for example, will not get) and be stronger for it come next season.

What I am saying is winning the NIT, CBI, or CIT justifies nothing as to whether or not a team should have been in the NCAA tourney.

So the NCAA selection committee always gets it right you're saying? No team they leave out was more deserving than any of the at-large bids they picked, no matter if they lose out in game 1 and the left out team wins the entire NIT? I gotta call BS. Weber would have been a legit pick for the Dance, and should have been no-brainer for the NIT.

These teams are in and Weber is better...

20-12 Northeastern
19-12 Charlston Southern
19-13 Niagra
18-15 Washington
18-14 stanford
18-14 Indiana State
18-13 St. Joes
17-14 Providence
16-15 St. Johns
Weber is not better than any of those teams. I'll bet they don't even get by cal poly in the cib or whatever that tourney is.

Nope, not what I said. What I said was winning one of the "other" tournaments does not justify that a team belonged in the NCAA tourney. Could one team have a gripe over another team...sure, but does it really matter which 4 teams are the last in and which 4 teams are the last out. It probably does to those 8 teams, but it is not going to matter in the big picture. As for Weebs or any other Big Sky team deserving to be in the NIT or big dance...until the Big Sky can prove they belong by winning games they will always get past over.

Weber is up 30 now. I am wondering if Cal Poly came in not wanting to play.

They certainly left having not wanting to be there. :)

Congrats to Weber for playing well.
Hope they can get another home game, make more noise, and represent the Big Sky well.

Dont know how official it really is, but according to Air Force's website The Falcons' next opponent is Weber State in Ogden.

Yep, I agree. Weber can use these victorie(s) as a huge building block for the next year. Very good win but the Air Force game will be a step up. Still think they win it! :thumb:

egg on my face, but good for them. I hope they win it all.

I will rooting for Weber as far as they go . Air Force plays a lot like them. AF is quicker, but Weber State is a little deeper. I seen both play this year. This will be a great game.

Weber State, Montana, UND, and UNC should all be very good next year. If the conference teams can take care of business in out of conference next year, the BSC could jump up a lot in conference ranking. A lot of returning talent next year for these teams. I think the conference can get between 20 and 23 next year.
