Weber....

I like the CIT tournament, thought it was a good field when the Griz played in it 2 years ago. Hopefully Weber and UND can make a run and gain some respect for the Big Sky.

Nobody cares, nobody will be watching, & the attendance will Suck.

No Respect to be garnered for such a sham of a tournament.

The only way for Big Sky to gain any is for Griz to give Orange a game. Go Griz
Have to agree about the "respect" impact.

But that's not the point, and neither is any (outsider) caring about the game, or the attendance. The coaching staff wants the team in a post-season tournament because it allows them to hold extra practices with the team. That's also why football staffs want their teams in "meaningless" bowl games. As I understand it, the NCAA (I know it's true for NAIA) limits the number of weeks coaches are allowed to run practices with their players. They can get additional weeks - not sure how many sessions -- if the team participates in a sanctioned post-season tournament/game.

It's as simple as that.

These teams are in and Weber is better...

20-12 Northeastern
19-12 Charlston Southern
19-13 Niagra
18-15 Washington
18-14 stanford
18-14 Indiana State
18-13 St. Joes
17-14 Providence
16-15 St. Johns
Weber is not better than any of those teams. I'll bet they don't even get by cal poly in the cib or whatever that tourney is.

Weber State and their fans have a right to be pissed. They are an NIT worthy team. Hell, I think they are an NCAA worthy team. It pisses me off as a fan of the Big Sky Conference. How is a conference supposed to get better, when teams who have earned a better tournament can't get it, because of biased formats?

Go Kick ass Weber State and UND!!! I will be pulling for you all.

TOTAL farce Weebs got shafted.....

Exactly right. Weber got screwed and should have been in the NIT. I disagree with those who say that the NIT and CIT mean nothing. It's enough that its one more game for the seniors. Its tourney experience for the underclassmen. And best of all, Whomever wins these tourneys can justifiably flip the NCAA the bird.

I agree with you Zootown Rox. I would think fans in the Big Sky will be very interested in how Weber and North Dakota do.

I think WSUnPurple is obviously disappointed with Weber' loss but these games are not meaningless. It provides Weber with more practices and more tournament experience which would bode well for next year. Most coaches would accept the invitation for those reasons alone.

Not to mention Weber's season doesn't end for their Senior class, GL Weber State I'll be rooting for you!

I think Weber will go deep in the CIT and maybe win it if they can recover from the Montana loss and play hard like they do against us. They will be a force next year to be reckoned with.

Not suprising, we had just about the same record, the same RPI and Damian Lillard and didnt get an NIT bid last year.

The NIT has become a glamour tournament

We will be playing in the CIT though at home Wednesday vs Cal Poly

Hope you do some damage. NIT is a tournament of name recognition also-rans.

Three teams from the BSC got into the women's WNIT. http://www.womensnit.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Northern Colorado with an automatic; EWU and Idaho State with an at large invite. Don't know why they picked Idaho State over Sacramento State, though.

So you are saying the NIT winner definitely should have been left out of the NCAA selection? I say the NIT winner is at least of first round caliber in the Dance, and has total justification for claiming they should have been in. But my point remains: Weber and NoDak will benefit from this additional game experience (that MSU, for example, will not get) and be stronger for it come next season.

Anyone know if the Weber game will be on BSTV? That would be nice.
No BSTV but can be streamed online for free here:

Weber starts at 6:55 and North Dakota vs Northern Iowa starts at 5:55 on college insider.

What I am saying is winning the NIT, CBI, or CIT justifies nothing as to whether or not a team should have been in the NCAA tourney.

They are putting it on Cal Poly 28 - 12 11 minutes in. Bolomboy has a step under reverse over-the-head two handed dunk that was awesome. He will be a player to be reckoned with the next 3 years.

That was a great move. He then had a big block on a layup. Swatted it away. They are rolling 32-14

It appears that there are a lot of empty seats. It is too bad as the team deserves better. They are going to make some noise in this tournament.
