I am not listening to this game, but I notice the Griz Band is dressed in Mormon baptism garments..Now, that IS funny!

Haha, nice, my friends and I were trying to figure out what they were wearing...we went with Hospital gowns though.

Yeah, my initial thought when I saw the light blue hospital gowns was it was just a tip to the Prostate Awareness night...
didn't see the light blue...but very aware of prostate cancer...don't need reminders, that's for sure.

Incidently, I've credited myself for an assist in this game.

At about the 12 minute mark of the first half, I glanced down and realized I'd failed to don any Griz attire. I immediately put on a Big Sky Champions T-shirt with a maroon Griz sweatshirt over it. A few moments later, the Griz had cut a 10 point deficit to 2.

Otis was in on it too...

That does not surprise me...he was ejected at the end of the MSU game also
That was totally uncalled for. Berry and Otis should be shown the bench for their next game. There is no excuse for that punk behavior. I wii say however its been a long time since Ive seen Tinks move that fast. I think he was just about off the court when he whipped around to get guys off the floor!

Yeah, I was happy it didn't go too far. No idea what actually happened since I couldn't see anything from the baseline seats for the students, other than what looked like Martin doing some post moves to break up the fight. I will credit the Weber players who stayed out of it, and I know I saw one Weber player smothering his teammate to prevent him from running in. So shame on the players who started, but kudos to those Weber players who are classy.

I also hope a camera was still running and the BSC might be able to figure out what happened and issue some suspensions to whoever is guilty of pulling the S***!

So... back from the game.

- Well fought game, especially considering that the Griz were without a starter in Gregory.

- This was the best I've seen Cherry (in person) this year, much more physical, a lot more slashing, leaving his feet more often. A few bad turnovers but great free throw shooting and real hard fought play.

- Kind of an off-night for Ward who did get double digits but even in the post game Tinks said Ward asked to sit b/c he was so gassed.

- The finish was... odd. Turnover by Ward, foul on a shot by Jamar, throw-away on the in bounds. Made it tense. Sloppy play there, can't do that when on the road.

- I'm already not looking forward to the game in Ogden. Weber was chippy (as were the Griz) all night and the post game blow up suggests it'll probably pick right up where it left off tonight. DeShields was talking all night (like he usually does) and really got into Berry's head for sure. Something was either said post-game or Berry and Otis decided to try to do something anyways. The Weber coaches were struggling to hold their players back while the Griz team all in all stepped back and didn't keep pushing forward. No punches or anything thrown that I saw. Remember the Oregon - Boise football game AFTER the Oregon RB Blount punched a Boise player and they had to haul him away? Berry was close to that kind of state, enraged as Rahe and another coach both had their arms around him forcing him off the court.

- Oh man, talk about missed travels. Weber had 7 or 8 they got away with and Ward's travel on a made shot was pretty bogus. It was getting very frustrating, the crowd was pretty mad about it.

- Love the hustle and hard work from Coleman, great dunk tonight as well.

- Weber's Tresnak is a beast, that is all.

- Best three plays of the night, Cherry's reverse lay-up where he was fouled as well. DeShields spin move beating Bamforth. Tresnak's spin/dunk around Hutch.

10-0 in conference at the mid-way point and up 2 games. I like it.

Go Griz

Thanks Wahlberg, your getting pretty good at this B-ball stuff too.. dont tell grizule i said that!

Can't believe some of the whiny pussies on here..."Oh no, we're gonna lose in Ogden...Griz aren't able to shoot FT like that so will lose in Ogden...It's Ogden, so we're gonna lose in Ogden!" Jeebus Chripes! We have an awesome team and coach who for the next 4 weeks is going to look at tonight's game footage and work on ways to prevent Otis from scoring and such. Enjoy the wins or I'm gonna have to call a Whambulance!

looking forward to making the drive in a couple hours to see this :thumb:

hopeful they continue to run the offense through Jamar in the mid or even low post area!

Go Griz!!
it isn't the Offense of the Griz that concerns me as much as the ability of Weber to double Ward, and the insane ability of their guards to hit impossibly hard shots, including 3s....Jamar and DeSheilds have their work cut out tonight...I am hoping Cherry will return to his old form before his injury and surprise Weber...this might be the game that decides if the Griz are a 14 or 13 seed, should they win the conf. tourney...
Boom! LA... You called it. Cherry is back :thumb:

There were no punches thrown. The weebs coaches did s great job of man handling their players. Every single Griz stepped back two or four steps and showed class. I did see more than one head snap to when Tinks came back onto the court. There is no question the Griz wanted any part of that poor behavior shown by punk and lil punk.

Thanks for report :thumb:

I really hate Weber...which happens to rhyme with Beiber but I digress... Seriously that's two straight years where they've had players showing zero class in a loss. Last year when we stormed the court Otis or someone took a cup of water from the bench and threw it at us all, then this crap tonight. I'm glad our guys know how to be classy. Classless punks like those Weber idiots just piss me off though.

I am sure Weber State will be given a warning. Depending on the extents of the scuffle, might even miss a game.

Berry from Oakland. Deshields from DC. Hard to find 2 tougher areas to be from in basketball or life.
For whatever its worth, Keron is from Baltimore.

Either way, Keron is a great kid, and chose to get away from that atmosphere and make a good life for himself? Quite a risk, dont you think  And coach Tinks is his biggest mentor right now!

I've gotten to be pretty close with him, and he's just a great guy. I have nothing but respect for the way he's tried to start fresh with his life. It would scare the crap out of me to have to get out of a place like that. Love seeing him wearing the Griz colors!

They all have stories and backgrounds, but this kid is fearless. Could you imagine, as a kid his age, from the prairie in MT, deciding to take a schollie in urban Baltimore? Im sure he thought we had horse covered wagons, and indians trying to knock us off, but was still willing to make that change to succeed in life? He is a very positive person, and I think he will be here even after he is done playing. He is very thankful for the opportunity he was given :thumb:

So true...but Westchester High in LA, and McClintock in the Bay area are not the Ideal..even the gangs are afraid there....gotta admire kids who see what life can be from the bottom of a generally hopeless pit. This is what makes college coaches more than just teachers of a sport to so many, whether at UM or Syracuse...or women's ball in some places like Baylor....more to bball than playing the game.
