Griz Nation! This petition was launched just under 12 hours ago and we have already hit 1300 signatures! You guys rock! The key to keep this going is to keep sharing it. Use FB, Twitter, have your spouse sign it, etc.

I intend to deliver this to Kent Haslam and to make Coach Hauck aware of it as well (I beleive they may be aware already!) and also to possibly send to Missoulian and Kaimin just to show the actual support (we will cross that bridge when we get there). Keep this going and keep checking back for updates! I would think we could get to 2k sooner than later!

EDIT AND UPDATE: MADE IT OFFICIAL. PLEASE CLICK ON LINK AND SIGN IF YOU WAMT YOUR SUPPORT FOR COACH HAUCK TO BE HEARD
Altho I support BH's return, I don't think this petition is a fair sampling of opinions re: the rehire. Why?

Because it samples a different population than the faculty. This petition should be circulated among faculty, and not the general population.

True. But! Who affords the faculty to remain? Were there to be enough public outrage, the BOR would be forced to intervene. Tenure is tenuous with strong leadership and a rebellious following. Just suppose the student senate were to actually speak up; what about a boycott of classes and perhaps a strong statement by the Dean of Students. Work within the system to effect change, as this petition is doing now.

Missoula did not deserve the book nor did the athletic departments of either state flagship universities truly deserve their public portrayal and subsequent public humiliations.

This petition is also a response to Lisa Davey's petition, and that has nothing to do with the faculty.

And? Your point would be what? I specifically stated "Missoula did not deserve the book..." It is all encompassing. Instead of sitting back and worse, being knocked down and kicked, get the hell up and fight for Christ's sake. Even a cornered mouse will eventally fight back. Enough is enough.

Moving up on 2,000, but the pace has slowed ... need more "shares."

These things always do this. They fizz out in a hurry UNLESS......

It gets in the right hands, giving it the proper exposure AND a new group of people are introduced to it during each new newspaper article, radio interview or television spot that touches on the subject.

I don't to the social media thing, Myspace, FaceBook and such (Too much fighting) but I do my fair share of reading and snooping around those sights.

Very surprised to see no one posted a link to this petition on the most recent FB Missoulian articles. Especial the editorial by Burke.

Is some one smart enough to post a link after each of these articles?

We just rolled 2000 signatures!! We HAVE to share this to social media outlets, FB articles from Missoulian, etc.

Let's get creative and keep it rocking. Thanks for your help!!

Have no idea what happens from here ... don't have access that would matter. But I'd say "fizz out" at over 2000 responses in 24 hours (roughly) is pretty impressive and should send a message to some people, at least.

Yes, stuff like this, but more so the venues that do not just concentrate on sports. Amie has done great although unfortunately she is back home at the moment as she has lost a close family member. Her hands are also tied as well due to the publication that employs her.

Agreed, and what I meant was these petitions in general start with a big bang and then die down in a hurry unless they receive a boost due to media coverage.

Missoulian turned off comments on those articles sometime back. You can't post it can't comment. The only voice allowed on the Missoulian is the editors and those they deem worthy.

I guess I should have clarified. The Missoulian has a Facebook page. When these articles or letters are posted people are quick to jump on both sides of the argument. The most recent ones, there seems to be more for than against. Just thought it was a accessible vehicle to use for posting a link to this petition for those of you that do facebook.

Seriously though, I believe a large portion of this petition is directed toward a Group of 28 faculty that stepped out of their role as educators for whatever reason. Teach. Unless you're in the political science department and then let the students have a voice. All the students without having to worry about an ugly hag beating them over the head with her poison pen.

And in Kiamanville
