And hard to predict if there would’ve been any defections, or injuries. I think someone, who clearly knew what they were talking about in the spring (can’t remember who) talked about how the blocking style would change under Hauck, I think they talked about how these guys were recruited to “zone” block, and are now being asked to block differently and not a good fit. One reason I’d like to have stuck with the other guy for a few more years, the same thing that people now want with Hauck, 5-6 years.
Haha yeah maybe magic fairy dust would have prevented injuries and defections, get real. Of course having only 8 lineman on scholarship this spring vs 15 wr was not the problem! This is the thinnest line i’ve ever seen. Our starting 5 today included a injured walk-on at center (Meyer), freshmen at tackle (Keintz) and guard (Martin), the other guard started fall camp at d-line (Sirmon), and the other tackle was sick all summer and had trouble losing weight (Beaver). There is simply no depth at this position, it was left depleted by Stitt. Oh, and so was safety which was even worse depth wise, if that is even possible.
