Walk-Ons????????????

I’m glad he hopefully got things figured out. That kind of stuff wasn’t dealt with back then as well as it is today, so it must’ve been even more difficult. I’m not sure if you’re GB, but if you are, keep fighting every day.

Gabe brown was never a walk on. He was a non qualifier. He intended school at the university, made the grades, and signed a full ride scholarship. Worked out and practice with the team. Unfortunately he suffered depression, and the medication made him basically, a zombie. He left the team due to those problems.

It sounds like he gave it his all, and like he would have been a great addition to the team. I hope he found the peace he deserves. Whatever came on the field wouldn't matter as much as that.

To make an analogy, mental health treatment hasn't evolved much compared to rocket science. The last 50 or so years has been to basically ignore it, like it will go away. Throw money at it. I saw it for years, professionally. It's a joke. Revolving door 'treatment' centers, in all but name. One pt was on his 21st admission. . I still encounter the same people in the same conditions that I first saw them.. I hope GB was the exception.

Treatment is all about meds and Big Pharma.

Sad that some here discount the help some get seeking mental health treatment.

I know dozens + who have received treatment and put themselves on track to achieve their full potential. Soldiers riddled with substance abuse resulting from PTSD or survivor's guilt...reunited with their Families and thriving as a result of mental health treatment is awesome.

Don't let anyone tell you it can't be effective or is an invention of "big pharma."

If you or a loved one needs some help - go get it. Ignore the stigma some continue to endorse.

Yeah, Big Pharma is the enemy of the people....... that is, until one of them develops a serious illness and relies on a drug from Big Pharma to keep them alive. Then their perception of Big Pharma totally changes. The annual budget for the NIH is 6 billion dollars a year. Yet, almost every significant drug available to us came from the private sector "Big Pharma" companies, while the NIH scientists sit in their labs and swill coffee for eight hours a day. Zero accountability. Zero accomplishments. Anyone who gets a life-threatening illness will thank Big Pharma.
