WA Griz stadium this summer

All these names thrown out there and not one of you has hit it yet. I'm especially ashamed of you Polson. If you can only choose one, there is no question.

Dire Straits! Oh, this is the 21st century..... forget it.

You'd never know it based on most of the musical acts mentioned in this thread.

Seriously. Can we change the title to "Name a lot of washed up musical acts, go:"?

Jimmy Buffett would be one hell of a party
I've been waiting for a WA Griz Jimmy Buffett concert for years. He's got a song about Missoula and multiple about Montana. Rumor has it that he played the Aber day keg before he got big, and I think his sister owns a ranch over by Bozeman. He has too many connections to the state NOT to grace us with his presence. Someone get his agent on the phone!

In the early 1980's Buffett also played a show in the Adams field house. It was a great show, you should have been there. I believe it was the last show in his tour that year so he may have given it a little extra. When he played "Cheeseburger in Paradise" about 500 McDonald cheeseburgers dropped onto the stage from above.

For what it's worth, I think (possibly mixed up with another show) his back up band was a virtually unknown act called Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. :ugeek:

No doubt. I would love to see some current acts. The thread wasn't who do we want to see at Rocking the Rivers.

I think we should have the Mission Mountain Wood Band and 200 kegs of beer.
Ah, memories.....
They would be a kick ass warm up band, them orJimmy Buffet.

Personally I would like to see one of the super groups from the 70s or 80s that still has broad appeal.
After reading every post, this is my short list.
Led Zepplin
The Who
U2
Remaining members of Crosby Stills Nash and Young
Bruce Springsteen

I would settle for:
Tom Petty
Maybe Steely Dan

NO Tool.

Maybe someone will create a poll that we can forward the results on to someone with the power to go after a specific group of big name acts to come play WA Griz this summer.
