Vigens future prospects

That would be quite awkward.

Though Vegan coaching there next fall is about as likely as Choate still being the coach in Reno.
Choate might still be there due to finances, according to Nevada fans on a few boards the biggest issue they're dealing with is lack of financial support for Football since NIL began and the teams been suffering the Consequences since.

Which then begs the question, why do recruits choose to play for a losing program with limited NIL when they could play in Montana? Is it the lure of a bowl game?

They're also still paying the buyout of their previous coach Ken Wilson until December of 2026. I think Choate gets one more year even if they go 1-11.

I know many people on here don't like it but the alure of playing for an FBS school is a factor with recruiting and we are often playing second fiddle to even the bad FBS schools. Can't even begin to tell you how often I've had to correct casual CFB fans who thought FCS was D2.

I think it was last season but I guess most of the "toilet bowl" games as many on here like to call them had more viewers then even the FCS Championship game. The chance to play at the highest level of CFB is attractive to recruits and unfortunately FCS is not nearly as big as people think outside of States that only have FCS schools.

I don’t even correct them anymore. I’ve learned that beginning a sentence with, “Actually, we’re still technically DI, but it’s just a different subdivision of DI where the football team plays…” clarifies nothing. I’ve already lost them, and I can’t blame them.

Playing at low level FCS schools is not "playing at the highest level of CFB". The Power 4/3 is the highest level. Where do you get your info for saying "we are playing second fiddle to bad FBS schools"? Just curious. Or do you have any such data?

I don't understand why any UM or FCS fans care about fans who think FCS is D2. They are obviously stupid. Who cares about them? Who care about "casual" football fans?

Show us your data on most toilet bowl games had more viewers than the FCS championship game. It would be interesting to see the stats.

Thx.

The really interesting thing is that MSU plays Nevada next season, and you just know that Choate would NOT want to lose to his former school. But MSU will surely be favored in that game unless Choate works a miracle or two in Reno over the offseason.

Choate's "miracle-working" may end this year as his team is in last place in The Mountain ⛰️ West, currently 1-7--there may not be a next year for Choate, at least in Reno !!!

Not once did I say anything about low level FCS schools? And FBS is the highest level of CFB currently, there are tiers within it but FBS is still the highest you can go. And regardless of personal feelings towards Casual CFB fans we may have they are the largest contingent and the ones that bring the extra eyeballs and impact viewership the most.

Championship game between MSU vs NDSU averaged 2.4 Million viewers (2nd highest viewership in history) and based on the info ive found only beat the following Bowl games:

Bahamas, Frisco, Ventures, Hawaii, Celebration, Potato and Fenway Bowls.

In regards to recruiting I found this with a large number going to schools who have historically or are bad this season.

Someone really rooting for Vigen to leave Bozeman is Jeff Choate--his Reno miracle featuring his Bobcat misfits hasn't materialized, his toothless Wolfpack hasn't yet won a conference game in Choate's second season, and at 1-7 with Bronco Mendenhall's Utah State looming on Saturday after a bye, the ice 🧊 is starting to crack loudly under Choda's feet in Reno : ( !!!
Chode was never that great of a coach.
