Vigen Head Scratchers

All I’ve heard from Cats trolls here is how Vigen is the best coach in the history of the planet and that he has the cats prepared to beat NDSU and SDSU.

I didn’t see that in this game at all….the most important game for him:

- terrible call to go for the 4th down before half. It led to a Bison TD
- play calling and strategy in first half was awful. He thought he could run right at the big Bison front
- fist half clock management was awful too with no intentionality to move the ball down 14-0
- he also decided it was a good idea to play man on Lance….awful decision
- then not putting a punt returner (one of the best in FCS) to field the punt literally ended the game for them

Vigen isn’t close to ready for the big time yet. Cats trolls you guys have been duped.

Someone else beat me to it: it was like the latest version of their FFGPTB. Just why?

veeg called a no punt return for punt return punt return. (NPRFPRPR)

An extra rusher was not going to make a difference particularly when it’s a quick kick. If anything, it made it easier on the punter because he did not have to sweat a return and could just concentrate on simply getting it away, and right down the middle of the fairway.

If they at least put a returner back there, the punter likely has to punt it out of bounds, guaranteeing one more play, or maybe it would have made the punter focus more on the punt instead of allowing him to easily kick it as quickly as possible, making a shank more likely because kicking it out of bounds is not normal.

Even if the returner can only call a fair catch, it would have guaranteed one more play. Having one more play would have been huge. What if it was a horrible kick and they could have fair caught it and did the free kick thingy that Harbaugh did a few weeks ago? Is that possible in CFB?

They needed a miracle but sixx never gave them the opportunity. Also having one more play (one more miracle) always has the potential to lead to multiple snaps as the game cannot end on a defensive penalty which are not uncommon on scramble type Hail Mary plays. Always play to extend the game because you just never know

Also, it had to be the first time they ever ran the NPRFPRPR. Most teams have a punt block play call, but they still keep a returner back there for a return. Nobody pulls the goalie.
Think about that for a sec: only the bubz would run a play they have never practiced at the most critical time in program history

Didn’t have the tongue for it.

The Bison 🦬 made the Shi##y Kitties play from behind the entire game, something The SK's are not used to doing and it showed. Tommy is best throwing the ball oportunitically when a receiver beats his man, for example. Tonight, he had to throw more because his SK's were playing from behind the entire game !!! ( I actually thought if USD had taken the opening kickoff, the Yotes had a real shot at upsetting the SKs in the semi's. Instead, USD deferred to the second half, and as a result, the Yotes ended up playing from behind The SK's the entire game in Boz Angeles !!! And that changef USD"s offensive game plan !!! )

Bobby had a few head scratchers this year where he was out coached.
