Vigen Head Scratchers

HHB pointed out a 3rd down incompletion in another thread.
I actually believed there were at least 2 possibly 3 of those that were the worst calls and biggest coaching blunders in the game.
They should have told Tommy that if his first read was not wide effin open, to scramble and go get the sticks with his legs. Do not try to thread the needle. Those few incompletions were drive killers.
Weren't some of those incompletions his guys flat out dropping the pass? Your point still stands, but he (Tommy) didn't really get help from any other skill players until their first drive of the 3rd quarter.

Against a much better team, but I'm glad this is helping you cope!

We're here for you!
Nailed it. It was the best Bobteam in the history of the program. They got rid of the DUI coaches/coverup, the president who presided over that "retired", they had the Golden Boy QB who could do no wrong, they beat the Griz and went undefeated in the regular season. All the pieces were there, and it still wasn't good enough. That has to be a tough reality to face for that fan base. I feel for them.

Hey you remember that guy who says he doesn’t editorialize about stuff like that? Well he totally editorialized on that exact thing when talking to Sam Herders on his Hero sports podcast leading up to the title game. Picks and chooses like some others that linger around the board.

And so does Bobby

Which is why so many people hold papa bear in such high esteem, and people aren’t afraid to point out the flaws with our current staff.

We get it. You’re not used to having arguably the best player in your programs history. Just so you know, moving forward his name will forever come up as the standard for which all future quarterbacks are judged by.

Interesting. I missed that.

It was refreshing not to see any dumb pouch kicks or two-point attempts. How do we hire a coach from the NDSU staff?

Well if you’re bored like I was as I was driving the other day, the episode is Colter Nuanez Discusses Montana States Path to Frisco on FCS Football Talk. Just kind of amusing that he referred to it as a problem that they got rid of that had been a distraction and part of the lackluster results of 2023 for them.

Yikes. Tough look. Then again, I’m just a loser.

Oh, that entire issue was just due to spoiled GRIZ fans.

It's the 7th of January 2025 and it's still safe to say, that Vigen is no Dave Arnold and Trashcan Tommy will never be Kelly Bradley

Lulay, McGhee, Prukop were all incredible and we rarely compare. Just as most gris fans never compare anyone to Dave

Not really. The incompletions I’m thinking of were not drops. They would have been very difficult passes to complete. That’s the point: those play calls did not favor Tommy’s strength.
