Vernon Adams didn't graduate from EWU

I expect him to start at Oregon. Nobody could flop like Forcier.

I still love this one:

The Oregon chat sites say he enrolled at Oregon on Monday of this week. I hope he is a star at that level too.

After the childlike behavior from EWU's administration after he said he was leaving, I hope so too. It was hilarious to see the C17 withdraw their support.

I have no doubt Shoota has superior math skills, it takes a sharp mind to calculate the exact trajectory needed to throw jump balls so Kupp reaches that exact point at the right time.

This unfinished class must be due to something else...perhaps a Lisa Left Eye Tribute Concert or a Christian father/son retreat.

Apparently he's no longer a 'Christian Father'.

So...can he re-enroll at EWU, or has that ship sailed?

(I always like to get a maritime reference in there.)
Its my understanding that since he signed a financial agreement with UO at the FBS level he can't come back to FCS because you must have at least 2 years of eligibility left to transfer down.

This is made to sound as no big deal. However you have to bet Vernon is worried inside.

In reality if he has struggled at EWU will he be able to get grades at UO in a graduate program?

There is a good chance Vernon does not see the field for the Ducks and he lost his last year of playing college football.

Do I blame the guy for the dream. I certainly do not.

What gradate school would accept a student struggling to complete a degree in interdisciplinary studies? Oregon sounds desperate.

Three points:
Not sure what graduate program Adams planned to go into (quick Google didn't turn that up), but I doubt that -- even at Oregon -- it has super-rigorous standards. And: Who cares? The NCAA rule does not say he has to get a degree, just "pursue" it.

Two: "Desperate" probably over-states the case. They clearly hoped to get a proven college-level QB with a big rep to push the candidates already in-house or coming in. (Yes, his numbers and rep were FCS, but they were pretty spectacular.) Beyond that, I doubt they felt he was someone they absolutely had to have.

Three: Admin folks at Oregon do not seem particularly worried:
Adams has been admitted and is eligible to enroll in Oregon's graduate school, according to the UO registrar.

I don't know anything about UO's graduate admission requirements. However, many top (academic) level schools do not require an undergraduate degree for admission. (Or they at least allow exceptions.) So if the registrar says Adams is eligible to enroll, then he is. He may be missing some prerequisites for specific classes, but schools allow for that also.

NBD.

Ran into a guy wearing an EWU Football shirt in the lobby of our hotel in Spokane last Thursday. We talked for awhile about the Griz/EWU rivalry and about Adams. He seemed to be pretty well connected at EWU and told me that Adams was a long shot to win the starting job at Oregon.

He also said that he loved the passion and classiness of Griz fans, as well as Bobcat fans, when compared to NDSU fans. He said that NDSU fans were arrogant pricks, and that they were hated by most EWU faithful. He then wished us luck in beating NDSU this year.

Thanks. I usually go to well-connected EWU fans when I want the inside scoop on Oregon's depth chart.

Really? Because I don't.
