Vernon Adams didn't graduate from EWU

So apparently he didn't have his "Ducks" in a row?

[FACE WITH TEARS OF JOY]

I'm rooting for Shoota, but this post and the Pickle Barrel of Fun thread are the best things I've read on eGriz since I broke my wing. Kickoff is getting closer . . . wits are sharpening up! :thumb:

Perhaps one shouldn't consider burning a bridge until they've actually crossed it.

Is that in Orange County by any chance?

If you read the article, it's a simple technicality and he will be playing for Oregon. It states he will be done with his math classes within the next two weeks and then will officially enroll in Oregon graduate school. I'm rooting for him in Oregon. I think it makes a good statement for Big Sky football

Substantively read an article and comment on the actual facts on egriz? Never....don't let the facts get in the way of a good post....

Not sure why everyone is making a big deal about this. He was never supposed to graduate now anyway. It was stated from the start that it was after summer classes.

actually we offer a Masters and PhD in interdisciplinary studies and a BA in liberal studies. All are very good degrees to have.

What can you do with a degree in interdisciplinary studies?

Obviously not control yourself. Isn't that right Grizzy.

The article can spin it any way they want, but the facts are that Vernon changed his major back in February in order to graduate sooner. The plan was to graduate in June and immediately be ready to enroll at Oregon. Clearly, he didn't pass his math class and things aren't going as planned. If he has to re take that class, he wont be done until August 14th. Missing the first week of fall camp and having one week to learn a new system and gain chemistry was not the plan...

Thanks for the info, I'm sure Oregon is impressed how that turned out.

I can almost (but not really) understand how some players fall behind and become ineligible to play at their school. I will never understand how dumb someone must be to fail a class when his transfer to a top 5 FBS program from an absolute shithole depends on his passing that class.

In "math", to top it off. Didn't most of us stop calling it "math" after junior high?

Seriously! I'm hoping, for the sake of humankind, that he didn't actually fail the class yet. I'd like to think that any academically eligible DI football player could learn conversational Farsi in that amount of time if the chance to be QB1 at Oregon hung in the balance, let alone "math."

In my mind I see the final exam something along the lines of:

1. It's 3rd and 4. How many yards do you need for a first down?

2. Greater, equal, or less than: the crowd at Ewoo's corn field compared with that at WA Griz?

3. You throw up yet another ridiculously dangerous pass off your back foot. Cooper Kupp bails your ass out yet again and catches it 47 yards down field and gets 19 yards after the catch. What is your jersy number?

I figure he's good for 2 out of 3 for a solid "D", and he's off to Oregon!

I understand that Oregon has brought in a high-profile tutor for Shoota. This is what you can get with Nike money behind you!

I doubt he'd paint himself into a corner, but the planned June completion and Oregon admission fell through by his own actions, or inactions. So, this could shape up to be the biggest flop since Tate Forcier.

And you expected what, less from him?
