VAN, why??

Did not get to watch this last game but on most others why do we see Van coming out of the game almost every time after he makes a play. I don't see Canada or Jones or others coming out after they get the ball. Not talking smack just wondering why one of the most explosive players is heading to the sideline often. Maybe I'm just missing that he plays more than I think but does and not get as many touches.
 
My theory is that most of the time he is in the game it is a play designed to get him in a favorable matchup through formation/personnel. By running him in more sporadically it makes it more of a challenge for the defense to match up.
 
I'm just glad that the coaches are finally seeing what I've been saying since last season and not giving Van many reps at running back. I've always said Canada is our best running back and frequently got blasted for saying it on here, I think it's pretty obvious now...
