No....they are not TE's....they are just big WR's....
Receivers range from 5'7" to 6'6", but because they have to be fast they are normally light by football standards, 175 to 215 pounds.
X and Y (Split Ends) - Are usually taller and run routes downfield to stretch it, go routes, posts, post-corners, flags, curls, ect.
Z (Flanker or slot) - Generally, the flanker will be a bit smaller and faster than the split end. The flanker is going to get to catch a lot of passes because he's quick and fast, catch a lot of bubble passes and crossing routes, run fly sweeps. You wan the ball in the players hands (in space).
H (H-Back) - He is a flexed TE, designed to get a miss-match on a linebacker in zone, or the 4th best cover guy in man to man.
