Utah Tech Trailblazers scouting report

I wouldn't bank on really any kickoff returns. The kicker can boot it. All of us kind of oohed as we watched one of his kickoffs go a couple rows into the stands in the student section. The dude has a leg. Punts, I don't remember though it seemed mostly fair catches. So either short or enough hang time for the coverage to get there. You'd have to look up the avg for punts.

Believe I saw that a few times on TV - kid has a leg
How many snaps at SS did Graves have? Any idea? Did he get all of the starter snaps? Did he start? Was my head in the clouds or did it seem like Meyer played most of the game at SS while Graves’ main focus was KR?

Also, did Lincoln start per the 2 deep? Thx.

Many of the Griz faithful will be jealous of the twin bridge abutments that had their fifteen minutes in the first drive and somehow managed to simply waive to bozeman runners, running by them, as they rolled up 400 on the ground. My question: are either of them left-handed?

You'd have to ask Colter.

Is he a Left Handed QB?

Meyer started and played most of the snaps at that position. Graves played some and was a weapon on the kick return. Lincoln did start and played the most of the first quarter and parts of the second. I don't remember seeing him or Grimsrud out there in the second half.

As an aside, and I think I’ve posted it before, St. George might be the eeriest place I’ve ever been, and I’ve been around quite a bit. A lot of thousand-mile stares by women in homemade dresses.

A sister wives cheerleading team would be worth the trip. I'd go see that.

Did Mata'afa play at all?

Love your pronunciation. He spelled Harris. I think he played about a third of the defensive snaps on that side. Nothing of note with regard to his play, other than he's a lot shorter than the tackle he played against yesterday

Grimsrud was definitely out there in the 2nd half. I didn't notice anything of note in Lincoln's play.

Serious question…. Is this a money game for the gris? How much are they paying?
The games have been scheduled since 2019 (same year they scheduled a 3-game series with your team). The Griz and cats both go to St. George once and get 3 home games and 2 home games, respectively. Your away game was also supposed to be this season, but I guess the Covid canceled season pushed it back to next year.

I don't believe there's any guaranteed money going to either school, since it's a home-and-home situation.

Totally trolling. But since you have a legit answer, that’s good to know. Crazy how far in advance these schedules are solidified. Didn’t realize we were supposed to be on the road this year. Wonder what that means for later years.

Wow, last time I give you the benefit of the doubt lmao

You can easily go to your team's website and check, but since that might be too much to ask for you, it seems your 2020 home game was moved to this year, and the away game this year replaced the home game next year, which won't be made up. Our two remaining home games against them are still scheduled for 2026 and 2027, though.

I know. I took advantage of the “serious question” preface. I apologize- too far.

The 3 rd home game is a guarantee game

The series is technically a 2-for-1 and a buy game. UM gets to host games in 2021 and 2026 and will play at DSU in St. George, Utah, in 2023. No money will be exchanged between schools for those games.

Montana will also host DSU once for a buy game in 2027. The guaranteed money going to DSU will be $260,000.

The greatest thing that could happen now is for Colter's kid to be left-handed!

Saying this in all seriousness: We don’t make jokes about kids here. I know your intent wasn’t malicious, but let’s just not. Thank you.

But people make fun of Hoops all the time.

I hope the coaches use this game to further develop Vidlak and not just pound the rock for an easy win. Griz will not beat the cats or any other good teams by running the ball, they must stick to the passing attack they started with against Butler. Developing Vidlak is critical to the program. I can accept going to the running attack if the score is close in the second half but the passing game must be developed.

Seems to me that if Hauck didn't start McDowell after he sparked the Griz offense and put that game away, he would undercut the idea that it's a genuine competition as he's stated.

Agreed.
