Well, I wasn’t going to do a poll this week, but ... I changed my mind. There are some interesting matchups, and potential upsets after all, so here we go. Of course, a couple games in the poll have the potential of being blow-outs by the favorite, but that’s what makes it fun.
Some might figure -- given past performance -- that the Bryant-Maine game is a likely blow-out, and perhaps it is. However, Bryant did beat Stony Brook, which gave FBS UConn a scare. Somewhat similarly, Southeast Missouri State did stay within 6 points of FBS Kansas. Now, admittedly, neither UConn nor Kansas are good FBS team, but still ...
I know it does not seem terribly likely that Northern Iowa could beat Hawaii, in Hawaii. But Hawaii is so bad (1-13, last year and this), I thought it was worth including the possibility.
FWIW, the game between South Carolina State and Coastal Carolina is featured in Haley’s TSN column as a classic offense (Coastal) vs defense (SCS) matchup. However, Coastal has a long home win streak and essentially “owns” the MEAC ... so what’s the point?
As usual, team on the left is the under-dog. You can pick two upsets.
