What's funny is a high school football coach thinking he can "ban" anybody from "his" school.

He kinda can. See, if you want to set foot on school property, and you don't have a kid there, you have to be an invited guest

Recruiters need to be invited to high school sporting events? I ask because I actually do not know. I guess what you are saying is everyone that doesn't have a kid on the football team needs an invite to the game.....from the coach?

Question for all the recruiting guru's. Have any of you ever heard of a high school calling out a college and forbidding them to recruit at that school? Not good IMO. Word spreads like poison.
About 8 years ago Oregon pulled their scholarship offer to St Bonaventure SS/LB Xavier Ramos at the last minute. St Bonaventure's coach banned Oregon from his school and that was when St Bonaventure was producing multiple Power 5 FBS players each year. Xavier Ramos ended up at Cal Poly and was a special team ace, but he never became a starter. Great kid though.

Sporting events are one thing, but one on one time at school is another.

Well at least it wasn't self imposed by us.

Hold that thought, you know who hasn't had a chance to weigh in yet...

I can understand pulling the offer, that's fine. Not returning multiple calls from the player and coach? That is pretty bush league. Hopefully Stitt learns from this.

Has to be more to this story... Guessing Kyon had zero intent or desire in signing with UM. Simply using the Griz as leverage. I'm sure Stitt gave him a chance, but ultimately said screw it and called his bluff. I like the move. Good luck, Kyon....

I would love to hear coach Stitt's side of this. The last thing you want as a new head coach, are D-Bag highschool coaches dragging you and your program through the mud.

Also , I if true, I am completely puzzled. When you have a 3-Star DT that is completely committed to your program, you take them. Other than corner, I don't think we have a thinner position at this point. We already have (4) WR in this recruiting class. If Ena doesn't committ, we have (0) new DT commits at this point. Am I missing something here?

From different article:
"Carter coach Alex Pierce said that Clark changed his mind when Montana underwent a coaching change as former coach Mick Delaney retired."

Seems either poor reporting by both writers or this high school coach can't keep his stories straight.

The coach of that high school needs to be fired, what he is doing to future players is pure poppycock plain and simple.

You can't blame UM for doing what they think is best for their program, it is a business after all. The thing that sticks out for me is how UM coaches / staff handled the situation. It obviously was not handled professionally or respectfully. Otherwise this coach from Carter High would not be up in arms. This doesn't reflect well on your football program, and Nzone is right, word spread fast. And technically no, college recruiters don't need a prospective players high school coach to "invite" them into the school with open arms, but you're a fool if you think that having a good working relationship with the head coach is not important, and i'm sure those kids at that school and surrounding area have a bad taste in their mouths from this.

I'm with you. Our depth chart for the DL is very thin. I'm going to assume coach has a plan here. I've played enough NCAA to know you can't just recruit skill position players.

You're right. That evil kid and coach had planned all along not to commit to UM and drag your programs name through the mud! Poor innocent griz program... Pull your head out of your rectum.

aah, I'm gonna wait for signing day and see how it all shakes out...i think Stitt is getting the guys he wants and that may mean parting ways with certain kids from Delaney's class. We'll get a better idea when camp starts.

XP go throw poop on your board, we do not need or want you here. Your Griz envy is obvious

Who knows what the real story is? Perhaps the Griz staff did try and return a call. Who knows how the first call went? Maybe hs coach didn't take the news so well on the initial call and said some things our guys didn't feel a follow up was in order. Who knows who this high school coach is? He could be talking out his butt. Who knows? I hate to think we turned away a potential stud at a need position, but I really hate to think our leaders aren't being professional. I'm sticking with coach for now, I think he's doing a great job. Now lock up Ena coach!
